Screw this son. Dude you're like 18 you need to chill out a little bit.

*KIND OF SPOILER ALERT?*
Oh, and now the son with an axe to grind against dear old dad has brought all his wisdom to this new land where he can create plenty of family drama that probably winds up in him running off, thinking he knows best, disappearing for a couple of episodes, dad blames himself but resolves to find the lost douchebag, he does in the season finale and lost douchebag tearfully apologizes for being such a futuristic prick to his dear old dad who only punched that cop to save his family. Awesome.
And older hot daughter is conveniently a mega-nerd who can explain all the background info of how they got there. Neato!
Aw, and douchebag son meets the attractive girl next door who already knows her way around the new land and will probably inspire him to show up dear ol dad, leading to his hopeful demise.

Anyone else notice Obama's face on the futuristic money.

You're kidding me right. I missed that? Probably couldn't get past the douchiness of the son and his newfound brotastic friends who, what do you know, are leading him out into the jungle! Rad! If they get attacked with no casualties I'm going to be super pissed. This show has potential but is going in all the predictable paths

Damn sure looked like it.

I like the renegade settlement angle

I think it's the most intriguing aspect so far, but it's too close to the whole Others angle from Lost
ETA: This show will not please me until a supposed main character is sacrificed

Ok so on a scale of Barney to Dexter, how's this show?
Posted on 9/26/11 at 8:22 pm to ipodking
Not terrible so far. It's got this underlying level of cheesiness that hasn't bothered me much yet. I like the not knowing who the "goodguys" or "badguys" are yet.
Its as basic a story and characters as you'll get but ill keep watching.

I gave it about 10 minutes and it was way to dramatized for me. I'll let y'all finish it and check up later. MNF time for me.

If the boy dies, I'll keep watching. If he makes up some aggravating subplot the writers expect me to tolerate, I'm out. This show is average with plenty of room for improvement, but if I were on the fence then that subplot would put me off enough to not want to watch anymore
And there we were so damn close!

Ok ok, let's get this straight. Both parents will risk orphaning their other two kids that easily? Sgt Avatar says both parents can't go and literally in same breath tells them to get in. I'm on the brink here people. Kill the punk son now
Eta: ahhh the classic "dumb bitch freakout"

I hate the son. His family seemed to do ok while the dad was in prison for trying to protect his family. Sure he left behind his girlfriend (who I have no doubt is going to show up later in the season after Skye and the douchebag start hooking up) but he immediately met Skye and made new friends. He really has no reason to be such a douche.

I just can't get over the cheesy SyFy production quality. I'm done with this. I expect Sharktopus to make an appearance soon.

now it seems that theyre gonna play on the "omg you were bit" angle from the zombie flicks
Posted on 9/26/11 at 8:49 pm to Bayoubengal85
damn, almost got rid of him lol

I'm Audi 5000. The writers fooled around with their one saving grace and it was a tease both times. You can't just tell me the kid is a douche because his dad went to prison and he missed out on quality father-son time in a world of overpopulation and poor air quality. What was he going to do? Sit in a huddle like all the other homeless people and watch tv on those generic futuristic projection glass tv things (why does future technology always seem to involve someone holding a piece of glass and using it as a touch-pad/tv)? I've bought that low-rent crap in a million other shows and movies. If you want me to invest my time in a show like this, invest a little time in creativity. Why do you think Lost was such a smash hit? It was uber creative (a little suspect at times, but creative nonetheless)
Oh, and now we have a last minute cliff hanger that's supposed to keep me hooked.
