Yeah I’ve said there’s parts of the fight scene in episode 5 that were actually good. I said they all involved the only initially interesting character which we all know is the stranger. I stated it was cool and unique to see him slaughter Jedi like cattle. And I know you read all of this because you responded to that post.

That doesn’t change the many things wrong with scene that largely were due to simple inability to focus on minor details that add up which is the sign of an out of their depth film maker and why I said I wouldn’t be inclined to blame the fight designers for that scene which was in the post I know you read.

I do blame them for the finale. So why are you ignoring things I know you read to continue to simp for a show almost all but you have made any attempt possible to memory hole it like it never happened?

Lesbian Hedlund: the feedback is “Don’t make Star Wars political.” I’m like, “George Lucas made it political. Those are political films.”

Headland, who finally responded to the original question: “No, I don’t think so! But people have told me that it’s the gayest Star Wars. And frankly, I’m into it.” Stenberg added, “I think Star Wars is already so gay. I mean, have you seen the outfits? We often say, ‘look how gay this is,’ and then send each other a reference photo.” Headland continued with an anecdote that brought laughter: “And are you telling me with a straight face that C-3PO is straight? I think it’s canon that R2-D2 is a lesbian.”

I agree with everything you just said. However returning to tried and true sci fi or the heroes journey concept or simple good vs evil while it will undoubtedly results in higher male viewership without removing non girl boss female characters like Gina Carrano who they fired which most if not all women don’t relate to and compelling relationship drama it will bring in almost no women at all far less than it ever did. And since that seems to be their only thing they’re interested in doing I don’t anticipate good Star Wars anytime soon

you also said:

It was tolerable to ok at best.

quote:

but it has many many many issues with it that got overlooked in production.

you know when you watched the scene you enjoyed it.

then you got into the nitpicking because you had to find something to dislike about everything.

and like i said there are things to dislike about this show.

I wouldn’t say I “enjoyed” it so much as I thought for once they were going to do something in this show not intended to bore their audience to tears.

Unlike the Disney Star Wars fans though simply waving around colors in the pitch black and killing off red shirts isn’t enough to garner a thumbs up out of me. Neither is have a pint size padawan go head to head on equal terms with a sith. Nor is the obviously should’ve been re shot or edited out multiple moments of said red shirts standing still in place waiting for their key to attack and get killed.

Again almost anything regarding only the stranger and the actual main characters was pretty solid but too many minor issues are in the scene for it to be said to more than ok.

There are 3 parts of that fight.

Part 1. Jecki gets wrecked. In no way is she holding her own. She’s getting demolished. Part one ends with her on the ground after the Stranger booted her and she almost dies but luckily has a second lightsaber to save her life.

Part 2: Jecki now has 2 lightsabers and the Stranger is preoccupied trying to chase down Mae. Ends with the Stranger casually cutting her second lightsaber in half and running off.

Part 3: Sol and Jecki fight the Stranger. End with Jecki getting 3 hole punched.

The whole “oh Jecki is a padawan why does she hold her own ca the Stranger” argument ignored that she just doesn’t.

The fact she isn’t slaughtered instantly like the other Jedi Knights he was more than capable of doing it to disproves all of that by itself

Even when people are kind and giving the show more flowers than it in all likelihood deserves if it has any criticism at all in any way Sam just can’t tolerate it. He must act in defense of the floundering mega corp.

Bad day for the pronouns in bio crowd.

Now at least Amandla has time for that dis-track B side!

She’s more likely to be forever outcast to the mansion of her rich Dutch white father as she will never again be in a hollywood production. She’s one of the worst actors I’ve ever seen and the DEI opportunities are drying up faster than Sammy’s brain power.

It’s odd too because she was good as rue in hunger games and almost all child actors blow. Just an example of how identity politics melts your brain and saps all your potential

I watched the show in its entirety because I guess i am a SW completists. The writing was the major problem. If they could have had better writing, the show could have been passable. The main actress playing the sisters was terrible.

Sammy isn’t a shill. He’s a true dyed in the wool believer. Which makes it worse imo.

I agree with this. I believe males are willing to invest in a story even if the lead is female if the story is appealing to them. I do not believe females will invest time in a story with a male lead unless there are strong elements they prefer. (i.e. My Hero Academia is popular with girls and does feature heavy romance undertones. Dragonball Z does not have as large of a female base because romance plays no major role in the overall story)

I'm not a big Star Wars fan so it's not a show I was excited about anyway, I'd be fine if Star Wars died off after I got a Andor S2, but that quote sealed the deal for me not to watch it before it was released and I honestly think it doomed the show in general. I mean what a dumb statement.
