you guys are right. It fricking sucked. The only redeeming quality was that it didn't last that long.

Ha!

I was just coming on here to mention the Rotten Tomato rating of 21%.

Some movies are just plain old bad. This one fills that role admirably.

So these little bug things just rip everything apart. They take that moving semi down in like 3 seconds, Giants stadium etc. However if they get inside your body it takes some time to kill you? You get a nose bleed and eventually die but huge object disapear in seconds.

numbers. Obviously only a few got into the body where hundreds of zillions ate the big stuff.

I think not having seen the first one was a positive for this movie for me.

Seeing the first one did not ruin this movie for me.

Seeing this steaming pile did that all on its own.

Yea, this movie, which I had pretty high hopes was lame. Not only that, it was a leftist political statement as well.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

This really is on my list of worst ever. Part of the reason it is there is because it was a remake of a good film. It simply could have and should have been better.

They made our government both incompetent and evil. This was not necessary, but since George Bush eats babies for breakfast, they wanted to make a social commentary.

In the original, the army guy shoots because he thinks the alien is reaching for a weapon. The direction in the remake is so heavy handed, they had to change that scene to the alien just reaching his hand out.

We know the alien technology is far far far superior to our technology so we launch an unmanned drone attack. I mean some of the stuff the government did without provocation was just plain silly.

The dialogue was horrendous.

The scene with the cop getting squashed then healed was nonsensical. I often wonder if actors realize they are filming crap while they act.

Then, lets get to little whinny brat smith kid. So the alien has zero compassion for Earth, but in a few short hours spent with a kid whining the whole time, he comes to love Earth. What a load of crap.

I would prefer to watch the happening again, before watching this one and the happening was about as bad as a movie can get.

I didn't think the Happening was too bad, until the end.

TDTESS was pretty bad. I bought and watched this a few weeks ago, and was disappointed. Which is saying something because I had pretty low hopes for it. I mainly wanted to see it for the special effects, which were kinda cool in several instances, but just okay overall.

I agree that the dialogue was shite. It's like they didn't even try. And the acting was just as bad..everybody seemed to overact. Especially the government people, like some of you said. Some of the government actions and decisions were comical at best.

I also loved how they tried to modernize it by making the chick have a black husband/stepson. And Keanu was pretty terrible too, but I guess that's not really a shocker.

The little bug things pissed me off as well. They eat through glass, cement, buildings, cars, etc., but were passing up some things. Like in the end when they are running around in the park...the bugs are everywhere, but not eating them. I thought that was shite.

i laughed out loud in the theater when keanu says to the boy, "nothing really dies"

even though the message of the movie is we are killing the earth.

we are killing the earth we are killing the earth we are killing the earth we are killing the earth we are killing the earth we are killing the earth

but i wont bring your dad back to life because you see nothing really dies. so that should make you feel better.

Ditto.

I feel sorry for Kathy Bates. She did the best acting job out of all of them, and it was for such a shite piece of crap.

Jennifer Connely has come a long way from A Beautiful Mind...The Hulk then this...
