Another indication that this probably won't happen is that CW is owned by CBS and WB jointly while ABC is all Disney. Who owns Marvel.
I doubt WB is willing to share any of the film profits just to put Arrow and Flash in the films.

With the Flash going to tv, they can't really use him in the film now.
Sure they can.
Green Arrow and Flash could just be minor JL characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow essentially were in Avengers.

See, that's the thing though: Warner Brothers has ALWAYS owned DC Comics and their properties in its entirety.
Man of Steel - WARNER
Nolan Batman - WARNER
Green Lantern - WARNER
Constantine - WARNER
WARNER OWNS EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING DC RELATED and still manages to frick it up.

Didn't manage to stop Paramount from distributing The Avengers or Universal from distributing The Incredible Hulk.

But Warner Bros aren't going to be able to make a film with the NBC version of Constantine without paying NBC.
Same for these versions of Arrow and Flash. CBS is part owner of these television properties.

Well, Universal had Hulks film rights which Marvel got back.
As to Avengers:
LINK
quote:
Disney bought Marvel last year, but the comic book movie studio was already in the midst of a five-year distribution deal with Paramount – which meant that the latter still owned the distribution and marketing rights to Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, The Avengers, and Iron Man 3.
While Paramount will retain the rights to Thor, Captain America, and the first two Iron Man movies, Disney has now acquired the worldwide rights to both The Avengers and Iron Man 3.
Disney didn't own Marvel when Marvel struck the deal with Paramount.

The point still stands. "Part Owner" gives WB a whole lot more leverage over their TV properties on the CW than "Not at all Owner"

I never argued against that fact yo.
Just saying what more than likely will and will not happen. Imo of course

you make solid points. i think its still up in the air whether or not WB will merge the universes. they are doing so well as 2 separate entities, they may shy away.
however, a point can be made that because of the popularity the joining of the 2 may help the movies as well. itll be interesting to see what happens. im sure its being discussed and also hinges on the flash's success.
anyway, whos the guy in the wheelchair?

Anyone else notice Ferris Air?
I'll flip out if they have a Hal Jordan cameo at some point down the road. I doubt that happens, but I love how these showrunners throw out those easter eggs like that.
That extended trailer has me psyched about the series. I have a feeling these showrunners are going to be able to manuever the whole meta-powers thing with ease, and make it work every well. I hate that we have to wait until fall for the pilot.

What?
Warner owns and produces Flash/Arrow and they sell the rights to air those shows to CW.
Same as they have done w/Gotham and Constantine. I really doubt that would stop them from putting the characters in movies. Hell, CW, NBC and Fox should WANT them to do that kind of stuff b/c it would only advertise their shows more.
I think the thing that would stop the TV from sharing a universe w/film would be Warner being stupid and thinking they can do it all better than Marvel. I wouldnt be shocked to see a filmmaker like Snyder piss and moan if he was forced to accept the TV stuff as part of the a shared universe.

I completely agree. WB studio heads have been purposely vague when questioned about this recently. They haven't made up their minds. Of course..

I wouldn't mind it at all. I like the actor playing Barry and Arnell/Arrow could hang with Cavil in the films. I'm just basing my opinion on how the studio guys usually approach things. Which is 100% money driven.
A-List actor + A-List character = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

He just goes by Ed.

I wouldn't exactly have called Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans A-list actors before they were Thor and Captain America.
Also, getting away fro man A lister w/Ruffalo for Hulk was probably the better move for them long term. Ruffalo won't be able to make demands like Ed Norton.

If they ever do decide to merge the two universes, WB should just go ahead and give the movie reins over to Berlanti, Guggenheim, and Kreisberg. Hell if WB were smart, they'd hand them the reins to the movies anyways. Whoever has the reins now seems to be screwing them up in royal fashion (especially when compared to Marvel).

You know what? My bad for continuing to use "A-List" because you're right.

This looks great, I see CW has gotten a bigger budget over the years as that Super Speed looks so much better then in Smallville.
