Just watched the latest episode. Im still enjoying it. Yes there are inconsistencies as there are in most TV series but I'm not going to be the usual movie/tv board douche that bashes the shite out of everything.
Great show!
Great show!

uh...no. it wasn't slow at all
quote:
- too much character building IMHO
its actually trying to be a good show. the characters are very important to the story. its about them and their interactions with a zombie backdrop
quote:
- the zombies moved wayyyy too fast for my taste, and climbing the fence. WTF
yeah i didn't like the one that climbed the fence. i will believe that maybe the fresher they are, the faster they can move

what was up with the racist frick in there?
every show has to have the cliche white racist guy. its fricking stupid
quote:
- Why the frick weren't the people using the fire axe beforehand? Why did hte sheriff guy break it out and not the others?
because you will find out that other people don't think like rick. he is a leader who knows what to do in a bad situation. the others with him are not leaders

I was more upset w/ the zombies using rocks to break windows instead of the zombie climbing the fence. I've never seen a zombie actually use a device like that
then you have never seen the original Night of the Living Dead

What if these zombies have the ability to learn?
then this will go from a really good show to a real stupid show. see Land of the Dead and witness how Romero fricked that one up. Also Day of the Dead as well

I was annoyed that the deputy didn't drop that handy grenade into the throng trying to figure out how to climb the ladder and that they didn't use some of those vehicles to play "Plow the Streets". I wanted to see some major zombie carnage.
I agree with this. That would have been awesome. Guess we will see the grenade in a future episode

was happy when he got left. I hope the zombies get him and turn him. Perhaps he will become a zombie leader and go after the other survivors camp. He would be a cool adversary
I'm really not trying to be a dick, but this would be a horrible idea for a plot and a reason why zombie movie have been corny, stupid shite for a while now

any chance that long haired zombie is more advanced?at the end of the first episode the camera gives him a weird shot and he's seen in the second episode(when they are walking around with the blood).
there is no chance of this. None at all if Kirkman follows the rule he established in the graphic novel

Tank
question for those who know: how realistic is it for someone to be able to start and drive a tank having never been in one before.
Also, i hate that they call them Geeks. fricking stupid

Didn't work so well in Land but I liked how Bub was used in Day. It's not like Bub just "evolved" like in Land (which was stupid). He was trained over time which I always thought was just a neat little concept. D(ay)otD is my fav Romero zombie flick btw.

i will agree that teaching them over time is more realistic than them evolving

out of the romero films, it ranks 4th for me

I didn't like the episode for whatever reason, hated that blond broad crying constantly. Hopefully next week will be better for me.

I am asking in this thread because I don't think it will effect ruin the show for those of us who have not read the comics. I am also afraid of reading the other thread and spoiling any upcoming cool stuff. If you do think its not a good idea to answer in this thread let me know, it no problem I'm a man, I can take it. The question is, What caused the zombies to come about? Meteorite striking earth, world war, Scientific tests gone bad? TIA

All I will say is that Kirkman has said in numerous interviews that he will never reveal the reasons why the dead walked. i am up to date on the comics and it has never been revealed. i like it that way

Another thing: Them smearing the guts on themselves was much more horrific on the show than what they could have portrayed in the comic. awesome job as it was quite disgusting
and when rick and glenn were walking through the zombies, i could feel the tension and terror the characters were going through. loved it

Actually I'll rephrase it and say Dawn and Day are neck and neck. Dawn is a better "movie" as it had great characters, story, commentary, soundtrack, and gore but Day was a better "zombie flick" if that makes any sense. Sure it had bad acting and a so-so story but I just really loved the sophisticated gore effects, especially Rhodes' death which was
I also love every scene that involved the scientist and his experimentations. The guy was hilariously kooky.
