quote:That was pretty damn impressive. Also, the first scene involving the little girl zombie was one of the better openings to any series I have seen. It really was a great pilot in its entirety.
The half-zombie is one of the most impressive FX zombie's I've ever seen.
My favorite part was definitely when he saw the helicopter and you get a sense of safety, but when he turns the corner...BAM. Freaking zombie horde standing in his way.
Also, even though I knew he wouldn't die, the thought definitely crossed my mind when he was scrambling under the tank.

Goddammit that was a great first episode. I've read all of the Walking Dead comics and I can tell you this show will be the most consistently tense show you've ever seen. From an interview I read, Darabont isn't following the books storyline exactly either so there will be a lot of new material which I'm excited to see.
One of the great things about an ensemble cast is that the writers can/will kill of pretty much anybody. That mixed in with constant scenes like the one with Rick under the tank tonight will make this a hit for sure.

Pretty much my exact feelings. I love the comic, and the pilot was badass. Hell, my wife even got into it.

I really enjoyed the first episode.
A lot of "human" elements that keep it from being just a shooter movie.
QUESTION:
The voice over the radio in the tank...Were they likely in the helicopter or a rebel camp in the towers around him?

First episode was awesome. The only thing I had a problem with was when he told the other officer to take his gun off safety and the officer made a move to take his Glock off safety. Glocks do not have a safety per say that you would have to "take it off safety". A little nitpicky I know Otherwise an awesome show and I am looking forward to the rest of the season. AMC has already bought a 2nd season.

As someone who owns all the comics that make up The Walking Dead, let me say that the show blew away my expectations. It was awesome seeing my imagination come to life (hearing the characters talk, seeing them as real people, etc). I also loved how we were able to see more than what the comic offered, such as Rick leaving the hospital and Morgan in the house with Duane.
What I really enjoyed was the dialogue. If anyone reads the comic, they probably have noticed the dialogue can get forced and a little akward. Not so with the show. I also like how they are going to change it up a little from the comic.
Just like Kirkman said he hopes his comic series never ends, I hope this show can go on for a very long time.

and that half zombie he went back to execute in the park, I'm thinking it was his partners wife. It has to be someone he knew and felt something for.
I loved the part when they were leaving the police station and he was all too happy to shoot one of his fellow officers.
I think the voice on the radio is from some survivors probably close by in a skyscraper watching it all go down. I'm sure it's the guys he's with in the previews next week...looked to be that little asian dude from Street Guys. lolz
His wife seems like a real bitch. I hope she gets it real soon. It will be sad for the little boy though.
The black dude is awesome. I've always liked that guy. Like someone said before, I hope he's there to save me when there is a real apocalypse.
I've never read the comic, but I like how they chose ATL as the staging area. Nice to see they aren't using a city like LA or NYC...but I guess neither did Dawn of the Dead.
God this show is fricking awesome. I hope it goes on for like the next 10 years or so.

I could answer all your questions right now, but it would be major spoilers

Wasn't his partners wife. Though i do believe his partners wife is a zombie, that wasn't her. That was used to show his compassion towards the zombies, or compassion towards the people before they were zombies. It was a good scene.

He didn't have so much compassion for that other sherrifs deputy. He couldn't wait to light his arse up and he was a fricking coworker.
although I can certainly relate.

That one zombie they kept focusing on that was in the bus in ATL, what was his deal? He's all over the website too.

Spoilers for Michael J. Cocks. All answers are based on the graphic novel. I'm not sure how much will change with the show.
He doesn't know the woman and his partner Shane does not have a wife. Though they don't go far into it in the comic, he makes an emotional connection with this woman. He feels sorry for what happened to her and puts her our of her
misery. Is pretty much shapes who Rick is. He is a tough guy that shows compassion. As far as shooting the deputy (this wasn't in the comic), I don't think he was happy to do it. He knew he had to do it.
The voice is Glenn. He is a member of the base camp that includes Shane, Rick's wife and son, etc. In the comic, he saves Rick and brings him to the camp. There is no tank. I'm not sure how the rescue will play out but that is what will happen. He will then bring him tl the camp and reunite him with his wife and son. Let's just say Shane isn't pleased.
His wife is pretty much a bitch. She gets hers, but it won't be for a long time. His son Carl becomes quite the little gun slinger as well.
Morgan is awesome, however if this follows the comic, don't expect to see him again for a long time.
