Still their best horror film IMO

I still think about from time to time.

So damn unsettling.

Top 5:

Under the Silver Lake
Ex Machina
Slow West
The Last Movie Star
Enemy

Others that I've seen and liked:

Green Room
Under the Skin
A Most Violent Year
De Palma
The Iron Claw

Watched Civil War this past week didn't really care for it. Plan on watching Love Lies Bleeding over holidays.

Of the movies getting a lot of love in this thread, I really enjoyed

Locke
The Lobster
Uncut Gems
Good Time
A Most Violent Year

Some of the movies that haven’t been mentioned much, if at all:

Aftersun
Mid90s
Lady Bird
The Disaster Artist
Moonlight
20th Century Women
Lamb
First Reformed
The Farewell

Interesting documentaries that are worth watching:

Boys State
Oasis Supersonic

Apparently A24 is also buying up some old films like the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense, as well as Darren Aronofsky’s debut Pi, but I wouldn’t consider those A24 films as they were made so long before the studio existed.

This for me

Could swap in Talk to Me for any, aside from Ex Machina, and would still be perfect

Watched the Lobster for the first time last night. Like SFP said, insanely funny with the dark humor. Lot of In Bruges vibes, but that miserable bitch killing his brother was depressing as hell and completely shifted the tone of the movie for about 10-15 minutes. It legit pissed me off

Has anyone seen We’re all going to the World’s fair? Premise looked interesting but have never heard anything about it.

It probably falls into the found footage category. Much of what we see is monitor mounted webcam footage.

It's definitely unique, pretty unsettling. It's also paced and filmed in ways that many here would likely find annoying.

I've tried twice to watch this movie and I can't make more than about 15 or 20 minutes in. Did the director tell all the actors to make all of their line deliveries sound like they're reading ad copy aloud on purpose?

Been in my queue for years. I imagine I need to focus on this so I just rarely have the time to invest.

Been in my queue for a long time, too.

Had no idea it was an A24 movie until I looked up their full roster for this thread

L.A. Stoner Noir Mystery which of course the gold standard is The Big Lebowski this isn't The Big Lebowski it's more along the lines of Inherent Vice but for my money better than Inherent Vice.

Other movies recently have tried their hand at the genre, Last Looks(underrated) and The Pool Man(not good).
