I'd wager that life on Earth today is no more varied that it was 5 million years ago.

I'll take that bet........you know how many ice ages where in that time frame that changed the landscape as we know it.........

right, now when your done talking about simple proteins and bacteria...........and talking about life forms of substance we can chat.

Since when bacteria isn't a life form of substance? None of us would be alive today if it weren't for bacteria. And I am not speaking from a evolutionary standpoint. They are essential for the maintenance of the status quo.

Hey kockstand, how was Darwin's birthday party?

It was great, he even made a surprise appearance. Amazing how much he's evolved in only 200 years.

The were a ton of Ice Ages. I don't see how you could argue how it had a negative impact on diversity. If anything the Ice ages forced life forms to become more varied and flexible.

Satan really needs to change his strategy. It's like he lost his battle plans and heaven found them on the ground. They are so sure he is being cast in to the fire, so he better hit the gym or something, because he's pretty fricked if he stays on this route.

Sure while destroying others it may have created new ones.........but I don't think the Earth looked anything like it does now 5 million years ago.

i'm curious, what point you are trying to get across now? The age of the earth? or the age of existence of life? I haven't been following.

Nothing you have said in this thread has made any sense. Someone has debunked every statement, and your beliefs change each time to align more closely to what we say. What's the deal?

Lastly, on 12/21/2012 the earth will be in the same spot of rotation that it was when it first started spinning 26000 years ago so before yall all spew off about the 2012 thing the Mayans are just a small part of the puzzle.

Neither..........everytime I type something, another Mr. Wizard reflects on it.........

All I've been trying to state in this thread is that on 12/21/2012 the Earth is going to be in a 26000 year alignment.........thats it.

For some reason, this prompted a mental image of snails trying to outrun the glacier, and some species falling short.
