The only way someone even remotely thinks about these things while watching fricking Star Wars is if someone goes in with their conservative values on the mind.

She says that it's the worst planet ever, and I can't help but think of something like Mustafar or Jakku. Nope, it's fricking Monaco.

As I said, imagine if she had the nerve to say that in front of Rey? She'd be like “Oh yeah, of course this is the worst planet in the galaxy. Can’t be anything compared to the one where I grew up. I had to kill 3 aliens with an improvised shiv when they tried to rape and murder me. But yeah, this is the worst planet ever, you entitled bitch.”

Don't get me wrong, it isn't the best Star Wars movie by any means. But I was expecting Baby Geniuses in Space from reading this board. It was entertaining. It seemed like a normal Star Wars movie. And the funny thing, I don't think the melt will stop anytime soon. And people say the Soccer Board is the most embarrassing board on TD

It's damn embarrassing, this is my main board and I'm ashamed honestly

No one gives a frick. The movie was bad. The only defense of it is "hurp durp it was for the merchandising".

That, ironically, is a condemnation in and of itself.

Luke- We waited 35 years to see the most powerful Jedi

Where are you people getting this shite from? I know it’s not Return of the Jedi because Luke was doing the Electric Boogaloo on Emperor Palpaten’s throne room floor until dad came bail him out.

Is Luke being the “most powerful Jedi Ever” some EU shite or something?

To be fair, most people are pointing out very valid flaws with this movie. The sjw stuff is just the icing on the cake.

If you want to act like it doesn't exist then please explain why critics are saying anyone who didn't like it is a maga fanboy.

The political agendas in this film would be talked about far less if they had just done their job and made the movie well.

Rey isn't the issue. She never has been.

If anything Rey should have been in the movie more and not sidelined for the finale.

I saw it again yesterday and while I don't change my criticisms of it, I was able to enjoy the things I liked (cinematography, the throne room fight scene) a lot more.

This movie is very much like Batman vs Superman for me. It's trying to deconstruct the idea of what Star Wars is just like that movie tried to deconstruct Superman. This isn't as bad as BvS but both movies do an injustice to the source material/mythos as well as the movies that preceded and will follow it.

Also after a second viewing I think the sjw complaints are even more overblown than I did before. Leia and Laura Dern clearly like and respect Poe and see him as the future leader of the rebels (which he defacto is now going into 9). That they were demoting/sidelining him was less about anything sjw related (though not completely) and more about Rian trying to turn the headstrong mentality of the heros on its head as part of his overarching deconstruction of Star Wars thats present throughout the movie.

I thought we would get an answer on Snoke. I mean this has been a huge question since the last film, along with Rey's parents and were get a huge FU on both.

Had these questions been answered, and Luke given a better death I'd be happy.

Fox we get it you hated the movie. And you are like the Breesus of Star Wars now. Please go into all the threads and keep repeating it over and over, those threads all need your repetitive negative reasons, especially when people say they like it, can't have that going unchecked

Yeah this is a big part of the problem (along with the weak script and bad cgi). TLJ may have worked on its own but as part of a larger saga it's completely disjointed and broken.

The movie tried to have it both ways.

It wants him as the future leader of the Resistance but went about "humbling" his bravado but having him make decisions that resulted in the deaths of about 75% of what remained of the Resistance.

So...why do they like him again?

Palpatine wasn't developed either. I mean you don't have to answer everything.

I get the frustration but movie goers aren't entitled to everything they expect to happen.

That's what pisses me off about all the super negative reviews they all sound like a bunch of entitled millienials
