I had a dream the other night that I met the actress that played Marie, and I yelled "Hank is still dead" at her.

Skylar sucked. I never felt any sympathy for her.

She tried to control a lot of Walt's life and she couldn't deal when she lost the control.

She was part of the reason he wanted to do whatever the frick he wanted.

Instead of trying to play games to get back at her husband, she should have just ended it the right way.
This is what most sane people would have done if they found out their spouse was doing what Walt was doing. But if she was hated for the character she ended up being, I can't imagine how hated should would've been if she would've dumped Walt and/or turned him in like she should have from the beginning.

He wasn't only keeping secrets, he was straight up lying to her face about SERIOUS things and she did the same back to him. The entire relationship was fricked from the beginning since it was all built on lies.

These were my thoughts on Skyler two days ago in my BB thread (I was responding to rondo):
quote:

quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Skyler sucks. I keep trying to put myself in her shoes in having to deal with basically losing a husband to cancer, and then losing him to something else almost entirely
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

basic thought from a basic man.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are you trying to say by that? I'm by no means being basic with my thoughts about Skyler. I don't like her character at all. I don't like how she plays both sides of the fence all the time...one minute she's crafting some outrageous lie to protect the family, and the next she's trying to be moral...one minute she's wanting Walt to kill someone and the next minute she's hating him for actually killing someone else. One minute she's giving away Walt's money to her former lover, and the next she's mad at Walt for continuing to cook because he needs to replace the money that she gave away.

Sure, it was Walt's fault that she was involved in the first place, but he always tried to keep his family separate from his business, and she got herself more and more involved, even to the point of being greedy at times.

And let's not forget that Walt granted her what she wanted...she wanted out and he signed the divorce papers, and then she didn't file them. He gave her the chance to separate from him and keep her kids safer, and she chose not to.

So, explain to me if/why you like Skyler...or were you just being an a-hole?

All kidding aside, her behavior as seen when we first meet her is, without question, emasculating to Walter. The question becomes, did he simply lose all sense of self when he left Grey Matter and settled with/for Skyler allowing her to dominate him like she did, or was she simply stronger all along and broke him?

I go with the first...he gave up on life and allowed his wife to run things.

I'm watching now for the first time and am at this point (so I have to be careful reading this thread I'm sure).

I freaking love the writing in this show: usually not too much, not too little, just right.

But with this Skylar thing, it's not good. I can't fathom that she became so unbearably hateful because of learning he was cooking. I think most women would be less angry at that than if their husband was having an affair.

To the OP, Skylar was still tolerable, even likeable, up until she became locked on the anger, then with the Ted fricking, just completely horrible.

And I'm sure it's been asked but, where the frick was the baby during all this fricking? In her carrier in the living room? We thought maybe daycare but then Walt Jr. mentioned he taking care of the baby at work.

What a fricking whore skank.

She was a bitch
She cheated on Walt
She lied to Walt
Her sister was Marie
She manipulated Walt's kids to hate him
She undermined Walt's authority
She force fed Walt
She nosed into Walt's business

Meanwhie, Walt forgave all of that and proceeded to generate roughly $80 Million cash for her and her unappreciative little shite of a son, and prolly count of a sister got in on it too.

Skylar was terrible

Which was right after she figured out he was a drug dealer. If I were her, I would have been relieved actually, and would have understood why. Sure, I'd be a bit pissed that he lied to me, but considering the alternative (infidelity), I'd at least breath a sigh of relief, and show some understanding.

Instead it pissed her off even more. It really did become a pissing match, and she couldn't stand that she wasn't the big swinging dick anymore, so she has to go walk into the pool in the middle of dinner like a bitch.

There are several better options than the passive aggressive weak willed games that she played. I would have had much more respect for her if she had turned in Walt. That might not have made for a very good show, but it would have showed some integrity on her part. This is just one option that would have been better than what she did.

She didn't let Ted hit it in the back seat of a car, next to a cop car outside of a school.

We had the benefit of Walt's point of view which helped the audience have sympathy for him. (Not to mention he is awesome and Cranston is now the shite causeof it)

If Walt was a porn addict he could have had lots of pussy being a kingpin, but he never cheated.

Imagine if the show had been from Skylar's point of view haha.

To make it even worse, she fricked Ted purely out of spite and to frick over Walt. Sure, she seemed kinda flirty with him before, but also disgusted with his professional ethics. It'd be different IMO, to some degree, if she loved Ted, but that doesn't appear to be the case to me. That just makes her less a victim of love and more dirty vindictive whore.

One of the first times we see her, she's giving him a pity hand job for his fricking BIRTHDAY.

Yeah, what was that about? Any man can give himself a better pity hand job than any woman can. Now a pity BJ? Well, I'm afraid I have to outsource that.

It's funny that because Skylar is in an impossible situation and takes Walt to task, she's called a bitch or a count.
