The point is to make up for decades of over-saturated white, straight folk in TV/Movies. There is still plenty of that out there if that's your bag, but there is a severe lack of representation for non-white, non-straight folks dating back to the beginning of film. Some over-correction is warranted.

I don't watch Hallmark/lifetime content throughout the year, but I do tune in for Christmas.
For the Christmas content I've seen thus far, I haven't noticed this at all. I've watched about 4-5 movies, along with Through my endless scrolling. I did notice a movie featuring a gay couple. There may be a single movie where the couple was interracial.
Other than that, every movie features a straight white or a straight black couple.
Another thing, comparing lgbt couples to interracial couples is idiotic. One is immoral, a sin, and ultimately impossible to procreate from. Interracial couples are normal, and should be looked at the same as intraracial couples.

All your Hallmark movie poster photos are from 2019 Hallmark movies. However, the only difference I've seen in 2020 and 2021 are a few that feature black or Latino main characters. They're perfectly acceptable Hallmark movies and not a bit different from the regular white ones.I think I saw a preview for 1, a single movie, with a featured gay male couple. Quite a few of the movies have interracial supporting character couples and gay friends. I mean really, lots of the time they are throwing parties and decorating for Christmas or shopping for the perfect gift. Of course, there are gay guys helping with those things...they do it best! Apparently, OP doesn't have a single gay friend or co-worker and lives far inside their bubble, where I have 2 gay men within 25 feet of my office every single day. One of them even made me a gorgeous Christmas wreath.
I figure it's kind of hard to stay that far inside your bubble.

Blacks have always been represented in film. Hal Roach's highest paid stars, by far, in the 20s were Farina Hoskins and Sammy Morrison...both black.
Take that rewritten history and cram it.

This has to be a joke. He said lack of representation and you offer up a couple of blacks getting money in the 1920s..being called "Little Sambo"etc ..when them and other black actors had to play demeaning, stereotypical and racist parts just to even have a career...smdh.
