Aerosmith is a good answer, especially with MTV.

Hard believe they started in '70.




I guess they dont follow the OP, but they did blow up in the 90's.

I was coming here to say Duran Duran. They actually fell off a bit in the late 80s with Notorious but came back with some solid hits.

Black Crowes, really didn't have to do anything different to stay relevant in the 90s. Neither did Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Guns n Roses kept it going for a while, as did AC/DC, Iron Maiden, and ZZ Top.

Black Crowes, RHCP, and Metallica didn't miss a beat.
