Some of the best shows I've seen:
Rage Against the Machine
Sonic Youth
The Living End (opened for Green Day, but we were there to see them)
Weezer (at the Mizzou Fieldhouse. Wasn't a big fan but they put on a hell of a performance)

Best is a tie between Cage the Elephant and Mike Shinoda
Cage was a couple years ago at Shaky Knees. All day it was hot as hell and right before Cage came out it poured. The rain was super refreshing and their performance was amazing. Absolutely phenomenal night
Shinoda is just more emotional for me personally. Grew a massive Linkin Park fan but never saw them live. Was supposed to see them in Tampa and then Chester died right before I was supposed to see them.
Being able to see Mike in a place as small as The Tabernacle just a year after Chester's death was awesome. Also Mike seems like a truly good person. Dude put on a great show too
Worst by far was Hollywood Undead. The set itself wasn't terrible but the opening act was awful and some dude next to us kept trying to start a mosh pit when nobody around him was having it

That's weird, this would have been a top ten show for me just off the strength of time traveling back to the 1880s.
Hard to pick a best show. Motley on the Feelgood tour, Ozzy in the summer of '88, Metallica in '90, Maiden in MSG, Devin Townsend Project on a cruise ship, James Brown, Prince, etc., etc. Probably the worst was 30 Seconds to Mars. Mainly because Jared Leto was an obnoxious prick on stage. At one point he didn't get the response he wanted from the crowd so he stopped the show to berate the audience. Hey, dickhead, if the crowd isn't responding, it's your fault, not theirs.

I’ve had the opportunity to watch many bands perform of different genres throughout the years. My 1st real concert was Aerosmith at the Cajundome in 2004. I was in high school and probably one the youngest people there. Other notables are Lionel Ritchie and Foreigner, who I got to meet backstage during a private event.
Worst was probably Aaron Carter at Blue Bayou. Y’all go ahead and judge me

I also saw Blues Traveler July 4th at Red Rocks. It was the worst freaking show I have ever paid money for. They even had a dude on stage painting. Seriously... painting! They did not a play a single song i had ever heard before. After the show my wife said “BT is dead to me!” and we’ve never listened to them again.

Best- 1997 south of Austin, The Roots opened for RATM. It was the height of Rage's energy and fan following.
Worst - A pregnant Carrie Underwood at Endymion Extravaganza. She literally made me sober.

Jackson Browne at Alabama Theater. Solo with just his guitar and piano. Great performance and beautiful venue
I was at that concert as well. It was really good.

Best was Kenny Wayne Shepard opening for The Black Crowes with Jimmy Page playing with the band. That was July 4th, 2000 at Walnut Creek Pavilion in Raleigh. I was three weeks from getting out of the Army and was able to enjoy myself in a way that I hadn’t for the past three years.

It's a tie between Alice in Chains at the Ryman and Def Leppard at Bridgestone in Nashville. HM would be Ghost in Louisville at the Palace Theatre.

Did you go with Doc Brown and Clara Clayton?

Worth mentioning U2 in 2017 at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. They played Joshua Tree in its entirety and it still was lifeless. Bono spent a large portion of the show cueing up leftist short-films and bitching about Trump.
Saw U2 in 2018, similar experience. What a waste of an evening.

Best: KISS at the Warehouse in New Orleans around 76 or 77. The best energy and wild show I ever attended. Also The Cult at HOB when the reunited back together.
Worst: Montrose at the Warehouse mid 70's. Did not know that Sammy Hagger had left the band. Played all instrumentals with no singing of all. Played none their great hits off the first two albums. So pissed!!!!

The audience kept yelling out requests. JB says "I don't think that's the way this is supposed to work". Lol.

many great ones, some life changing
but the absolute worst was blues traveler at red rocks on the 4th of July, which is saying something considering the venue and the setting
it was so bad as to be comical
Wow, I was coming to post Blues Traveler as well. They opened for moe. in Dallas a couple years ago and put on by far the worst show I've ever seen. I was embarrassed for them. The Harmonica gets old FAST.
