Marking his first American performances in eight years, Gilmour will play shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29th and 30th, and at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 4th and 5th. According to a press release, these dates will mark Gilmour’s only live performances in North America.
in interviews Gilmour has said that the decision to not play Floyd stuff has two parts.
one is since Wright has passed it wont be the same and he will just be a cover band of himself at that point.
two is he has done all he can do with those songs and it is not interesting to him any more.
Gilmour is famously sensitive but also unsentimental at the same time. Just look at his last gear sale, he sold pretty much every instrument he was known for and used the most.
$21mm made went to charity

talk about a band that would be perfect for a Sphere residency.

Good definition. I truly get the sense that he is not sentimental. He seems to just move forward with things. I like that about him. He knows how great the things they did were but doesnt try to lean on it for everything. Like Roger does
I am a huge Gilmour fan and missing this event is fricking with me. Ive seen him before and want to see him one last time but the logistics of these two venues suck.
Fingers crossed that somehow, he does more.

10k people ahead of me for this presale

I somehow got on the presale yesterday and got two tickets at Madison Square Garden for 11/6.
My dream concert, but I’m a little worried about the set list. It’s a lot of money/effort/travel (I’m in Louisiana) if it’s not anything I really know/like. Also didn’t realize it was election day on 11/5 - crap!
His shows in London are like a month before, maybe if the set list is not attractive I could easily sell the tickets? I’m torn about this one.

I wish Mason's band would come to the US, unfortunately it looks like they only go to the UK and Europe.
They were in the U.S. in 2022, when I found out the tour was almost over so we flew to Phoenix just to see them. It was an amazing show, all early era Floyd, and the guys clearly had so much fun playing that material. No drama, just fun, unlike the Waters show we saw weeks earlier in Austin which was all politics and Gilmour-bashing.
They put out a great Blu-Ray in 2020 that was pretty similar to the show we saw if you're interested in that.
Just scored some tickets to Brit Floyd in a few weeks -- will by our first time.
