I don't know if George Strait took voice lessons but Cash never did. Very raw vocals. Never fully tapped into his voice.

His bass like voice isn't common and it turned heads in the 50s.

The same could be said about Dwight Yoakam.

His career was limited due to the rejection from the Nashville machine.

Yes. Most "country music" from the 1980s on is crapola.
