I have to agree. For me, Meddle and Animals are my favorite beginning to end. Animals is balls to the wall fantastic rock n roll. Nothing better than Gilmore's solo on Dogs. Nothing better than the frick you attitude of Pigs (Three Different Ones). Meddle is unbelievably smooth throughout. Echoes is a masterpiece. You can tell many great present day guitarists (i.e. Slash, Navarro, etc) were heavily influenced by Gilmore. Fearless sounds like a song the Black Crowes have always tried to write.
Its amazing listening to these guys and hearing all of the influences in present day music (listen to Fat Old Sun on AHM and then listen to Smashing Pumpkins' Porcelina of the Vast Oceans from Melon Collie).
Some of their most popular is for some reason my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I think they are all great, but for ranking purposes....I don't like the theatrical stuff like in the Wall (hope that isn't considered heretical here!)

Live at pompeii is incredible

I completely forgot about their live stuff at Pompeii. I've only seen them play Echoes there, did they release more live songs recorded in that stadium?

Division Bell is my favorite Floyd album.

I'd love The Wall if it wasn't a double album. There's just so much filler on it.
I want to say WYWH, but Shine On You Crazy Diamond just starts to drag, and that's half of the album. So I'll take either Dark Side or Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I get the love for Animals, but it's not my thing, though Pigs on the Wing might be my favorite Floyd song.

This
It's the only Floyd album that I skip around on. It's more about filler than length.

Doesn't echoes feature both comfortably numb and wish you were here? If my math is correct, that's number 1 on my list.
Posted on 3/31/12 at 11:54 pm to WG_Dawg
Well it's certainly not Atom Heart Mother. Every time I hear it I have to convince myself it's not some early stuff from Yanni.
Wish You Were Here is probably the easiest to listen to in the sense of not requiring my full concentration. All the other albums seem to require my full attention. So it tends to get played the most.

I am talking about the song Echoes from Meddle
Posted on 4/1/12 at 8:59 am to jose canseco
Echoes was a greatest hits album named after the song from meddle.

Although my favorite song by Pink Floyd, "Comfortably Numb" comes from "The Wall," my favorite album has to be DSOTM. Every song is sheer brilliance.

Have you read Waters' or Gilmour's comments about AHM? They do not hold it in very high regard.
