Does rockstar mean being an a-hole on stage? There's plenty of rock stars today. You don't need to be a drug addict or incite riots at your shows.
I hate the idea that being a boorish lout -- trashing hotel rooms, abusing groupies, drugging, just generally white trashing it -- is somehow "authentic" or "true" R&R behavior

The people who make a public show of that, their music usually sucks anyway

What about Maynard?
But can you even count him as a “front man” anymore?

The last rockstar was Layne Staley

Maybe, maybe not but he absolutely is in the discussion. I do know this though. Alice in chains was the best of the grunge movement and there hasn't been a better "rock and roll voice" since he died.

Dave Grohl is probably the last true "rock star" we'll ever see.

I’ve seen a concert or two since 32 years ago and one of the coolest things I’ve seen a Rockstar do, Shinedown lead singer got off the stage walked through the crowd and took selfies while belting out a song.

I’m not saying that he is the Last Great Rock Star, but from perspective, you have to be part of the whole experience to be a RockSTAR. Change with the times and roll with the punches.

Everyone’s experiences are different in music.

Not like dave grohl, i don't think.

Dave grohl seems to have a really good time being a rock star. He's gota a great stage presence, a likable personality and just looks like a guy that liked to chase pussy and shite like that.

To me, he's somewhat reminiscent of david lee roth.
