I played a lot of different models but this one just kept coming back to me.

She’s a beauty.
Those Ambertones are awesome.
A guitar for a lifetime.
Thanks for sharing.

I love Ambertones, I had an ambertone D28 for awhile last year but I never fell in love with its sound.

Always thought I was a rosewood fan and never even tried mahogany until recently playing a D18 Golden Era and realizing all of my assumptions were wrong.

Beautiful.
Did you get any free strings with it?
Seriously though, I guess you are the type of picker that wants a certain sound. I'm not that way. Different guitars bring out different grooves or moods for me, and I will play and sing the same thing, in a different way on different guitars. I don't know if that's good or bad, and it drives my friends crazy. " I thought we wuz doin it this way!" That's always a positive.

Awesome. One of those in a 000-28 almost talked me out of my 000-28ec. Great looking.

If it was low gloss finish, it'd be perfect.

That's the only negative for me with ambertone, shows up fingerprints and smudges.

Actually did

Yeah, like I said, I've always been a rosewood/spruce "D28" style guy but I played a D18 Golden Era in a shop awhile back and it just felt and sounded "right" to me.

I love the chunky neck (a major turn off for a lot of people) and the tone. The tone of a Golden Era seems better to me than of a standard D18.

I would've purchased the one I played that day but I figured if I was going to spend that kind of money, I should spend a little more and get an ambertone since it's my favorite Martin finish.

Apparently these are quite rare, this is the only one I could find for sale in the entire country on Facebook Marketplace/Reverb.

Yeah man, I know you spent some cash for that one, I think they only build a few of those. Congrats on that. Keep it the rest of your life, even if you get tired of it sometimes, when you come back to it, it's like falling in love all over again.

This is my way of thinking: Are you a fast player? Where it's about how many notes you can crowd in? Or are you all about tone?
Thicker, heavier necks, work like a muzzle brake on a rifle barrel and keep vibration and energy in the right place. It may not make your first note any better, but it's all about following notes. In the case of an acoustic guitar, you want all of that vibration in the body. That's where the sound comes from, and not to mention, when that neck is solid, you will hit all of your notes cleaner.

Yeah, I definitely like a chunkier neck.
