I ordered the 3 night run on CD...hopefully I will have it sometime friday or early next week. I order many of the shows on CD or Flac HD download as I am an audiophile (see above).
They usually get the show out and the CD packaging done in a couple days and another 2 to 3 to ship.
Nugs.net is producing them now. They all sound pretty damn good.

Truth. Those early 2009 SBDs were horrible until the new sound engineer perfected the sound.

Paul Lauengdoc was still in charge for Hampton. The shows following were really bad until Red Rocks (like you said).

Over the last 20+ years I have acquired a large number of the live Phish CDs (on the silver disc format). It is interesting to listen to the differences in sound and recording among the '92-'93, the '95-'99, and the '09-'13 shows. They have distinct characteristics, and I like all of them for what they are.
I think that all are recorded well as my reference point is many years of the Dead's recordings ('66-'95) done by a taper that was transferred umpteen times before making it to me--and some are just outright bad, as in I have to stop listening! The Dead's recordings are usually pretty damn good from '87 to '95...it's all the ones before that that are hit or miss from one night to the next.
I still have a DAT deck that I will sometimes put into the audio rig as I have a bunch of Dead shows on that format (yeah, I was an audio nerd back then too). Those actually sound fantastic considering that they were audience taper recordings and not from the SB.

My favorite sounding LivePhish disc is 10.31.95
The crowd eruption during the "nirvana" section of YEM is as good as it gets. Trey's guitar sounds like electric water during the jam. The opening Icculus also has a great reaction.

He explains that effect on the video where he walks through his rig. Like the Live Phish 1 NICU.

I'd much rather be there drinking $10 Bud Lights jamming out to that nasty Crosseyed than sitting on my couch drinking Dr. Hoptagon.

I've got a few shows from 97-98 on silver disc that were burned from a buddy back in BR. One of which is a top 3 show for me- 7.6.98

I have purchased some of the FlacHD download files from livephish.com and run it through a McIntosh Audio (not apple) DAC (digital to analog converter) decoding at 24 bit rate and 96k sample rate and the sound is nothing short of spectacular. They offer most of the shows from the last 2.5 years at this uncompressed high resolution file for around $5 more.
The only drawback is each complete show of 2 sets and an encore take up about 2.5-3 gigs of HDD!
