My first dead show was 4/28/80 in Bham. My first Phish and Panic show were on the same day, 7/12/92. HORDE tour at Jones Beach. I think that's why I always have respected both bands equally.

What are you referring to? I think I have Phish figured out if that's what you mean.
If you are implying that "you had to be there with Mikey" for WSP then whatever. I didn't "have to be there" for Band of Gypsys or The Who in 1970 or the Grateful Dead to "get" their live show. I do know that I have seen WSP with Herring over 5 times and it is borderline awful.
