I've never bought the whole "YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM TO GET IT" thing. Seeing Phish didn't make me love them any more or less and seeing Panic kept my apathy for them right about where it's always been.
I listened to live and studio stuff from both for years and formed my opinions way before ever seeing either. I realized early on that Phish was for me and Panic was not. Pretty simple, IMHO.
