I haven't had a single pot all day. Heading home now to rectify the situation. Sucks I won't be able to watch espn for a month. Posting in the coming weeks is still questionable.

Comedian Dane Cook recounted a tale some of you may or may not be familiar with last night on The Tonight Show as a part of their web series where comedians tell the story of their worst bombing. Cook recalled his time in a comedy group (they don't like to be called "troupes") in Boston in the early 90s. The group, made up of several local comedians, was asked to perform at the Rock of Boston held at the Boston Garden featuring Phish, Spin Doctors and many more. Unfortunately, the group was slated to go on right before Phish--it didn't go well.

"For about 20 seconds, we felt like we had the room completely on our side," Cook says. Then it went horribly wrong. Once the crowd realized what was going on, fans began launching shoes at the group ("a lot of sandals, because it was Phish") and then moved onto lighters following an impassioned speech by one of the members of the group. The beating took an emotional toll on Cook as well, who said he didn't want to show his face ever again.

After some brief sleuthing, the show is actually from October 30, 1992, Phish's first appearance at the Boston Garden (they would play New Year's there in 1994). The show was just one set but I imagine the crowd was pleased having chased the comedy group off stage. Check out Cook's story below.

Tour is in five days

12.31.99 Down With Disease - this jam has quickly catapulted into the best DWD ever conversation with the Big Cypress leak a few weeks ago. A great example of the '99 sound.

I'm actually a big fan of '99-'00. I got bored one summer and made a huge list of all the top (and then some) jamz of both years. Will post later

I think it doesn't garner as much praise as say '95 or '97 because of inconsistency. The high points were as good as they get though. Dec 1999 and Japan 2000 in particular stand as some of the best tours the band ever did. All about that permagroove.

Brah, that YEM is must hear. One of my absolute favorites.

The whole Gin,2001,YEM segment is money.

Add Light Up or Leave Me Alone .This might be the #1 sbd I want released. One of the best examples of that "permagroove" with a nice peak.

See post a few up about the DWD.

The SOAMelt from Cypress is the absolute fricking tits

The last 7-8 minutes of 9/12/99 Ghost are the scariest Phish has ever played. Even carier than the Here Lassie Bowie from '94 imo

So many amazing Gins that year. Best year for Gin by far.

And I actually like the 7/15 YEM better than the 12/2 one. That one goes absolutely fricking nuts.

Yeah, two different types of jams. I wish that "18" motif that they lock into during 12.2 went on forever.
