So I just listened to WAN from Mansfield. I just don't see how people think this is some type of masterpiece. Studio or live. The song is just boring as frick.

If being a noob means me not trying to convince myself that Fuego is a good CD so be it. As much as phanners complain about their own band, their pride is unlike any other fan base. It could almost be considered delusional.

Its a great album. If you dont dig it, there are other bands out there for you.

Joy sucked. Truth be told I don't really like Undermind or Round Room either.
Fuego is a good album. Good, not great.

Round Room is a really good album to for what the live version of the songs have become.

quote:Well no shite. Why would I limit myself to one band? Phish will go down as one of the greatest bands of all time (or at least live bands) and I appreciate them trying to keep the creativity flowing but it has dropped off tremendously.

They need to stop making albums

Yeah those bastards need to stop getting paid lots of money to do something they enjoy.

Not at all.
But there clearly is a demand for them to make more albums or they wouldn't, and making music is something they enjoy and I'm sure they enjoy money too. So...

I don't know, it is hard to accept mehalbums but they are going to happen because Phish is way past their prime. I just don't want the GOATness of the past to be ruined by attempts to outdo themselves or innovate, i.g. Fuego.

Fuego has received a warm reception by phans, critics, and even outsiders. Sorry you don't get it, mon.

I agree a lot with you, but I'm on the side that Fuego is good as far as Phish studio goes...After Joy, only way to go is up

Only you can decide if you want to allow a new album to ruin something for you.

I'm actually with Capt on this one
I actually do sort of like the studio album, but the live performances of said studio album did pretty much nothing for me the other night
Phish was killing a set-long Mike's Groove, killed Mike's, killed Simple, Free was decent, and then boom...snoozefest time
And I like WAN

Thank god they picked it back up with Ghost>Groove

As strange as it is, this is all truth...Fuego (song) is good live, but there was a large difference between Set 1 and Set 2. With that said, Wing suit was better than I expected in set 2.
