Springsteen hates America. His “Born in the USA” has nothing positive about America in it, but idiots will scream and dance to it at Fourth of July concerts like it’s the greatest patriotic song ever. Only lyrics they hear are “Born in the USA”.

It’s about Veterans returning home from Vietnam getting shite on, which was pretty much what happened. Much of our 90’s/2000’s hero worship of veterans was a reaction to how badly Vietnam vets were treated, with the idea that no veteran should have to go through that ever again.
