I mean you can have Eat a Peach since Duane's influence was all over it. But what Gregg has done to them recently is a shame. Just living off the name, kind of like Widespread Panic after Houser died.

He provided a platform for Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge and others to establish themselves as musicians and go on to do great things.

No way, dude. It's a "shame" what he did to that band.

Not to mention, the album Low Country Blues was fantastic, as was Laid Back, to give props to his solo work.

Me thinks the alter of Heeaaaady is alive and well on the music board.

There are 3 main jam bands that have significant cultural relevance in America in the past 50 or so years

The Grateful Dead
Phish
Allman Brothers

And then a bunch of stuff thats also good but not quite as "cultural important", and then a whole lot of stuff thats really terrible. like wsp

I see it's already been discussed but The Band aren't a jamband. I'm not sure where that is coming from.

The Band is in no way shape or form a jam band

I'm not sure the OP knows what a jam band is

I would like to point out that many of you have this band on your list. Which immediately disqualifies your from having an opinion on this board.

I saw them at Red Rocks in June... They made the Disco Biscuits sound like a cheap garage band.

I was probably just being too liberal with my interpretation. I've updated the OP to remove them and add DMB
