and Hank Williams. I think Alabama is an honorable mention, but not top 10.

Alabama should just claim number one, and print the T-shirts.

DC can't even get an honorable mention. Geez, they only invented three subgenres (hardcore, emo, and go go). You may recognize go go by the way its been repurposed in New Orleans as bounce.

DC might not crack the top 10, but it should at least get an honorable mention. and its ahead of Boulder, for godsakes.

And if we include non-pop music, DC slaughters. I mean, opera and orchestra. There's this guy named Sousa who worked out of DC who was kind've famous for a few marches. And outside of Kansas City, DC was one of the leaders of the jazz scene. Duke Ellington and Eva Cassidy were both Washingtonians.

This is a serious question. How come everybody from Cleveland is weird as frick? I'm not talking faux Austin weird or unique cliques of an area. I mean straight up goofy fricking weird. Everybody.

Yeah, because The Samples and Leftover String Band are more historically significant than Hank Williams, WC Handy, Muscle Shoals Studios, Fame Studios, Wicked Wilson Pickett, Percy Sledge, Alabama, and the Muthafrickin' Commodores!

Cleveland is not the birthplace of rock n roll. A deejay from there coined the term, but the music was primarily coming from the American south, primarily Memphis (Sun Records) and Texas (Buddy f'n Holly).
