Electric Worry is 100% southern rock, which is why I shared it. They have had albums that are a couple different genres. More stoner rock early on and have been predominantly more southern rock and blues rock since Beale Street album.

They're also from Maryland.

So?

CCR wasn't from the south.

Always makes me chuckle hearing about everyone's reactions to meeting the Swampers and such when they came to record for the first time, before word had really gotten out. Who the hell are these nerdy looking white dudes?

Here is the originator, Shorty Medlocke...one of his grandsons, Rickey Medlocke was in Blackfoot (and Skynyrd) and he was blowin' the harp at the beginning of the Blackfoot version.

It is really amazing how talented a lot of the “southern rock” musicians were! You can go to YouTube and watch their live performances and it is amazing. Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Molly hatchet, Elvin Bishop…. Etc..

I’d put the original lineup of the Outlaws (and their songs) right with any other Southern Rock band. There Goes Another Love Song would be in the running for the prototypical Southern Rock song.
