Pantera is coming to New Orleans, it would be a logistical nightmare to do a show at Smoothie King during Mardi Gras season.. they are announcing more dates in August, I'm safely assuming Nola id one

Phil has GOT to make this happen. I agree with you in that I think it will happen during the off dates of the Metallica tour next summer. I’m hoping.
They could easily sell out UNO & I think could draw well to Smoothie King Center with the buzz going how great they are playing.
Also watch out to see if Anthrax & BLS announce any tour dates as that could tell us where this is going.

They just announced some shows for early next year. I don't know what the long term plans are for this version of Pantera. Charlie and Zakk are probably making more money with Pantera than their main bands but I doubt they want to do this full time. I have a feeling Phil will want to take some time to do something else next year too.

They are playing Smoothie King size arenas with Lamb of God - if they have a somewhat decent opener in the same vein, they will play Smoothie King.

They have North America shows every weekend in August of next year with Metallica - they could easily play a mid-week show in Nola in between

don't see the New Orleans demographic and the Metallica demographic having a lot of overlap.
You know people have the ability to travel moderate distances relatively easily, right?

Why do we need to travel to Dallas for a good metal show?

I think he added that as a tattoo footnote.
