I could have put any of their four on the list... I still dont know which one is my favorite, I just went with their first one to make it easy on myself...

That's why I went with Wilco's AM. I could have put any of their relases pre-YHF.

the 90s really were the golden age of this genre IMO

yep, those were just the first ones that sort of popped in my head.

Shake Your Money Maker - Black Crowes (1990)

I thought about adding Southern Harmony but I guess I was thinking it wasn't typically considered alternative rock, even though I have Cash and some Alt country on my list. And the same with Phish - Billy Breathes.

Never the wrong answer. Maybe you think ska just sucks, but Johnny Quest thinks we're what?

4 pages and no 40 oz to freedom by Sublime?
No other album in the 90s crossed more genres and blended more styles of music into a SoCal masterpiece.

It is a weird definition.

I saw a couple of people list Beastie Boys. That is a really trick one because they have songs that are clearly hip hop and also songs that are punk rock on Check Your Head . Confusing. Another one who falls into this category is Beck.

It be much easier to just list top 10 albums of the 90s regardless of genre.

What if we did a top albums of each year in the 90's?

"Albums of 1991 that we agree don't suck" type thing

Agreed with the problem of defining boundaries...less than jake, samiam, kyuss, etc fall more into punk for me...

Which would produce an entirely different list.

Surprised something by morrissey hasn't made it on yet.
