The latter is the way to go. I think facilitating trades is an excellent way to build a small market roster. It's definitely a copy cat league. What MIA did back in '11 is hard to replicate. Three future HOF's that mesh well together on the court and are willing to take a pay cut is probably never going to happen again, at least not have the same success. Love is possibly the biggest domino that will fall this summer. If MIN ships him off like they should, that transaction would have more significance than Melo are any other free agent signing or trade. I'm not even considering the big three breaking up any time soon.

Love going to HOU would be scary but I think he wants LA or NY. If he were to go to HOU, I think that would leave us on the outside looking in because Minny would want picks and expirings, not EG . Hell they have a similar player in K-Mart for half the price

If you can get it, it's good work, see Lopez for Withey and cap space. If Demps could turn Gordon into Asik the board would go from about 50% ready to move on to about 90% In Demps We Trust.

Flip Saunders has named himself head coach but Kevin Love "sources" say he's still planning to opt out and Minnesota is starting to listen with more interest to offers on Love.

Just to further drive home how bad a fit Melo to Houston could be. James Harden is against it.
quote:

“I think we have a lot in our locker room already,” Harden said. “A couple of smaller moves would be good for us. I don’t know if necessarily the big move would help us out a lot. We have a lot of great players in our locker room, a lot of young guys that want to get better and want to work. Maybe a couple small moves and we’re right where we want to be.”

I'm at lunch and I have to say this thread is very entertaining (not being a dick, the discussion is fun).

I sort of like the earlier trade idea, but honestly, if I had a choice between Asik and a truly significant upgrade at the 3, I may go for the latter.
