I agree tanking doesn’t fix the franchise and I agree it doesn’t mean you’re drafting one or two …. But the pelicans are not getting the tenth seed …. they are not making the playoffs … so what other option do they have besides tanking and smart reasonable trading ….

The likely scenario is that whatever team would be willing to acquire him and his contract would want to add a few clauses about weight and/or BMI to his paperwork to insulate themselves from his history of not being able to maintain his fitness. That’s what a competent front office would do if they know he wants out and they are willing to make it happen.

A guy like him will fall in line if you make it clear that it will affect him financially if he doesn’t.

Bro the season is already wasted. Even if we play the best ball the Pels have ever played after the tourney…. We are still missing the playoffs.

May as well get a top 4 pick

Ummm, his contract already has these clauses, and also a games played clause, which is why he doesn’t have any guaranteed money left

The Pelicans need a new “best player”. They need a top ten in the league type of player if they ever want to compete seriously. And by far the best chance for them to accomplish that is with a high draft pick. The roster has been good for years. It’s been their supposed best players, and in part their coaching that has held them back.

Here is a sure thing: wherever Zion lands, he will do well and piss us off. It’s inevitable.

NBA needs to rig the draft to prevent Flagg from going to the Pelicans.

Generational talent is wasted with Benson.
