You can have your defensive metrics, which are notoriously difficult to quantify, (one posted here has Jokic as the best defender in the NBA this year) and I'll take Bridges all day defensively. You know why Herb has to be in our starting lineup? Because Ingram can't guard the guys that Herb has to. I would love for you to find one NBA coach, analyst, or front office personnel that would agree with your assertion that Ingram is a better defender than Bridges. I get loving to argue, especially on a message board, but you can't honestly believe what you have said regarding their defense.

I think part of the argument between those of us who would prefer Bridges to Ingram and vice cersa is this.
Pro Ingram take
Ingram is more talented and has more potential. (I don't disagree with this.)
Pro Bridges take
Bridges is more reliable, healthier, knows his role and is cheaper.
It's basically the same thing as people wanting to trade Zion for Lauri, which I'm on the opposite end of the argument. Because while Lauri is steadier, more reliable, better defensively and cheaper, Zion's potential dwarf's Markannen's to a much greater degree than BI over Bridges.

Shel is an empty stat, empty logic, empty inside type of person. He's not going to find stats. He's not going to backup his position with logic or facts. He just wants the argument to devolve into name calling.
