Coaching staff is lost. I've seen this junk with the starters none the less with new players. Gayle doesn't care about the season ticket holders and fans. I wonder if the league can force a team new ownership.

It’s going to have to take him losing the locker room, or at least the locker room having the belief that Willie is not the guy that can ultimately lead them to a championship (lol, i know, i know). If you outright fire him without the approval of everyone in the LR, you better plan to trade everyone in there also.

Man I think you are really assuming a lot in saying this locker room is fully on board and loves Willie. I think they respect him and if he got fired, they would respect the next coach. They don’t love Willie like some brother.

Nice to see Willie's boy JRE lighting it up.

I think the opposite actually. They love him, they just don’t respect him. That much is obvious with the way they play and never seem to do what Willie preaches. You can love a coach and not respect him and think he is the right coach for the team.

If they think this then he DEFINITELY should be fired. You don’t respect your coach- you have massive problems. I dont care about the love part.

Lol, what you expect her to do? She can’t put on a jersey and get on the court.

Gayle writes the checks

Griff puts the team together (which he has done a pretty damn good job of btw)

Willie coaches (meh)

Can’t blame the owner for doing her job.

Can’t blame the GM for doing his job.

Can’t blame the coach for the players on the floor.

Without the injuries this year we are a far better team. How do you mitigate injuries though? We’ve already revamped the training staff twice in an attempt to mitigate them, what else can you do?

You can say go ahead and trade guys, but that also was tried all offseason, the new CBA screwed up any potential of that.

Has he? Hes built his team around 2 guys who arent super stars that don’t play well together. One is basically gone after this season and Zion has conditioning and major health issues. If it wasn’t for Missi- who knows how bad the center position would be.

Come on soggy, you’re not going to tell me Griffin has done a pretty good job in putting this team together? Not to mention hes on his third coach who basically needs to be let go.

He’s also tried moving one of them all offseason for an upgrade, but couldn’t find takers because of the CBA.

He has drafted well, found hidden gems, and made good trades. That’s what you want out of a GM, just because Zion hasn’t worked out the way everyone thought he would because of injury, you don’t hold that against the GM when 100/100 people take Zion in that draft without thinking twice.

Second, Gentry was forced on him for a year.

And SVG was only let go because of BI and Hart not liking him.

She can fire a coaching staff and GM. She's the owner supposedly.

A CBA he fully knew about that was coming. Its his job as a GM to know this.

He was the GM- how was Gentry forced on him.

I dont care if players didn’t like SVG. Why the hell as a GM would you listen to them and fire him? Get the players in line or get them out. Josh Hart is a role player and BI is not even a max player.

Hes drafted well recently. Besides Zion issues- he whiffed on Hayes, Naw and Kira. But yes in regards to role players hes drafted well.

Part of Griffins job is developing his star and helping him reach his potential. You can blame Zion but a lot of responsibility also falls on Griff- its Zions 6th year and he still has conditioning, injury and leadership problems.

Have you seen the talent the coach currently has to work with?

The top 8 guys coming into the season are all injured, there is not a single player currently playing tonight that was expected to even contribute minutes this year.

As I stated in my post, you can look at the training staff, but that’s been revamped twice already. What more can you do besides trading guys, which has already been tried also.

It was pretty well reported at the time that anyone coming on as GM would be keeping Gentry for a year.

Could Griff have negotiated the firing of Gentry? Sure could have, but we were so far behind as a franchise that there were far bigger fish to fry immediately without having to add a coaching search on top of it.

I never heard this reported. I heard he chose to keep Gentry not that ownership required him to keep Gentry. Why would he have to keep Gentry? A financial issue?

Yeah, Reeves is looking good with the green light. Wonder if Willie will continue to give him minutes after tonight?
