Yeah I don't know why people think Nick didn't want drew. iirc he was pissed and wanted to sign him and fought with mgmt about it.

He put too much faith in the training staff as opposed to going with his gut. Brees has said as much in his book.
Let’s no pretend like Sagan was this massive failure. He went 9-7 his first year and I think 6-10 his second with really bad play. Had he gotten a serviceable guy he likely would’ve been ok.
I just don’t think he had the patience to build an nfl roster when he knew he could turnover 20-25 players with elite talent annually in college.
