Well disappointed Stan didn’t take blame. He just watched the car crash at the end of the game instead of intervening with an early timeout. You are up 17; therefore, no reason to save timeouts for the end of the game. Should have called it like Pop and reiterate the strategy to your young team. If the team is not executing he needs to call timeouts quick. He had 3-4 timeouts late in the game up big. If he slows portland’s run down another minute or so they win.
Stan did rightfully call out the bull shite foul calls they were giving Lillard.

That will help us at the end of close games when our guys get older and establish themselves more and start to get some of the calls that Dame gets
SVG just now.

I am trying to be objective. That foul on the last Lillard shot was extremely weak. Bledsoe blocked the shot first and barely touched Lillard’s hand after. That shot probably had some of the least contact of all contested shots in the game. I doubt they would have even considered giving that call to anyone else in the arena.

No man. Despite the run they went on, we still had a really good shot to win.
I don’t disagree that we still had a shot. The team had already played well enough for Stan to manage the win. Watch the coaches like Pop and Spoelstra shut that run down with the quickness with a timeout and rotation change.
Stan let them go on a 14-0 run in 2.5 minutes before calling a time out.
I also think the Melo call was a bunch of ref frickery. He should have gotten at minimum a technical and Stan should complain. While they had a minor stoppage in play I bet that caught the team off guard to all the sudden be taking the ball out instead of shooting a technical ft.

Yeah, the ball was out of Lillard's hand before Bledsoe touched him. I didn't see Bledsoe get contact with the ball, but he must have. Sucks that we couldn't challenge.

Dame with 12 more FTA than Zion. Zion was 6-6 from the line...only fouled 3 times according to officials. First highlight I saw of Zion after game was that one he made under the glass early on Kanter...clearly should have been an and one. At least half of his attempts are.
Zion mentioned after the game when Dame is drawing fouls like that it’s hard to play him aggressively, well the reverse is true with how Zion is being officiated. Easy to collapse on him and jump into him mid air or rake his arms on a shot when officials are swallowing their whistles.

Fire Stan and tank. Let's gets a good pick and a coach who doesn't overthink having ZION in the game and plays going through him.

How do they do that?

They could put the whistles under one of Zion’s folds of skin
ETA: I have a feeling Zion erupts for a season high tonight. He’s had two awesome games vs us and both Ls were very winnable games.
