Yeah, the BS and smoke is what makes me think that the talk of Zion and Brandon Ingram is probably fugazi. I have no doubt we're trying to make moved though, we have a lot of ammo not named Brandon or Zion

Yeah but see I said both ways. Pels are leaking stuff too. I wouldn’t believe one way or the other.

I could see that too.

If we see Williams as our center of the future and Scoot as our guard of the future, it makes it believable we could trade BI.

Still think BI is someone we want to keep but a good enough offer will get my attention:

Shams just released another thing on McAfee.

He said basically the same thing. I haven’t heard that Zion is available or offered.
Then he goes on to say but they really want Scoot so they must be giving either Zion or BI up.

Pure speculation.

An easy conclusion to jump to though,
and it would be a massive story, so I totally get jumping to the low hanging fruit of Zion and BI.

I can understand the thought process, but for my speculative thoughts, I think we’re probably gauging interest in our other assets because we do like Scoop

For sure, no one knows anything for certain. My thoughts just lean towards no big moves, I’m not claiming to know anything that anyone else doesn’t

He keeps hammering home how much the Pels are in love with Scoot. I think he keeps talking about this because he thinks the Pels are truly torn on whether Scoot is worth one of Zion/BI.

Definitely possible. It's also possible that this is just the biggest story in the league right now and he has airtime to fill. It's made Pels Talk pretty damn active as of late lol

ETA: Anyone have trade ideas that don’t involve those two guys? We could do a great many things here that have nothing to do with Zion, BI or Scoot.

Packaging Dyson, Naji and some firsts could probably next us a solid contributor

Depends on who we are targeting. I for one am still on the Dyson Daniels bandwagon and don’t want to move him. Trey is basically untouchable to me. Besides Zion and Ingram, those are probably our two most appealing players in a trade.

Trey and BI are the most untouchable guys on the roster to me. I would not trade BI for the uncertainty of building my team around an unknown player (Scoot) and a guy who can’t stay healthy and has professionalism and passion questioned (Zion). That’s to more questions than answers for me personally.

I get all that but lets be honest about this too. He’s a one time all star thats been to playoffs once. He akso has health problems- hasnt played 60 games for 4 years. When the team was number one in West, he wasn’t even playing. When he did play without Zion he couldn’t beat OKC at home in play in. I love BI as a person and culture fit but we should also be honest about his performance on the court.

Man, the bias on this board is wild

This overvaluing our own players a massive amount is crazy and unproductive tbh.

And I don’t even want to trade Ingram.

Can we attempt to actually have a real discussion about trade value though regarding Zion or Ingram?

I get everyone has a price (and maybe you are just naming yours), but Ingram and Naji for 2, Mark Will, 1st, and Hayward (positive asset) is not actually realistic by any stretch of the imagination.

If we trade up to get Scoot w Zion or Ingram, we realistically will have to add an additional asset, not Charlotte.

And I think that’s why a deal
ultimately won’t get done. Griff probably values Ingram more than anyone else in the nba. And it sounds like the Hornets don’t really particularly want Zion.

These media leaks/dive in’s on Zion’s contract “outs”, really seems like it could be coming from the Pels side to drum up Zion’s value.

Just a speculation of course. On the surface, Zion is a risky player to trade for due to injuries. But his contract, definitely makes it less risky than usual. The outs you get with Zion’s contract, coupled with the Super Max talent, but only on 25% raises, really does make for an interesting value proposition overall.

Scoot is already a movie star. He plays Romeo Travis in Shooting Stars which is the movie about LeBron’s youth and his time at SVSM.

The more I think about it (this news notwithstanding) the more I think Scoot is a franchise guy for the next 10-15 years and he’s extremely likeable. Would happily trade either one for him

I’d rather watch Gigli on loop than 5 minutes of any movie about Lebron

I watched it. Wasn’t bad. Kind of romantizes that time period though. The guy that plays Lucas in Stranger Things places Dru Joyce and Wood Harris plays his dad.
