Just read the whole thing. Like this part:

Not so long ago, the imperiled Hornets would have seemed to be the franchise most likely to benefit from revenue sharing, but no longer. As it stands now, they will not be entitled to participate, and by as early as next year they are projected to achieve profitability.

New Orleans Knights - plays on nights.....what already has that name?
We had an arena team of that name in the early 90s.

But in all seriousness, favorites for me are
New Orleans Krew/Krewe of New Orleans
New Orleans Soul
New Orleans Brass
I feel like either of the latter two would be cool as black & gold.
But I love the idea of incorporating Mardi Gras themes, colors, mascots, etc. It's something the city is famous for and instantly recognizable. Major marketing opportunities there

I actually like Marauders. Homage to the Battle of New Orleans and the War of 1812 in general.

New Orleans Supersonics
That way, if Seattle ever gets another team, we'll have trade bait.

I like the Krewe w/ mardi gras colors all year round. Don't know about the mascot, a jester might be kind of fruity though.

Late to the thread but that was a nice article.
Don't know if building around Aminu and Henry is the best idea in the world though. I would give one of yalls left nut to get Anthony Davis.

That's a really nice article. Any doubters should read it. Stern has been committed to making this franchise successful in New Orleans.
BTW, as far as name go, the suggestions I've seen here, I'd be okay with the Brass (although there's the question if the Nagin group's ownership of that name for the ECHL could interfere with its use in the NBA) or Privateers (just ignore UNO
