Yeah there’s not really a path to Hawk becoming a starter. Which is why I would definitely trade him for a guy who would come in and immediately be our starting center for potentially years to come

I’m just going to put a different perspective out there. Maybe management sees potential in some of our young centers, as potentially being better than Kessler could be.
That, combined with the fact that one more year to see what hawk can truly give you, see if he has improved, and he could eventually become CJ‘s replacement. Now a year or two down the road, you have a great player in Hawk, potentially, plus a center that can be better than Kessler in one of the young guys that we have. Seems like a good reason to not pull the trigger on this trade this year.
That, combined with the fact that one more year to see what hawk can truly give you, see if he has improved, and he could eventually become CJ‘s replacement. Now a year or two down the road, you have a great player in Hawk, potentially, plus a center that can be better than Kessler in one of the young guys that we have.
