Breaking news...
The New York Giants bolstered their defense Saturday, signing former Falcons linebacker Michael Boley to a five-year, $25 million contract.
The 26-year-old Boley is excellent in pass coverage and is expected to be given a shot at winning the weakside job. He played the strongside for Atlanta.
The change of scenery should be good for Boley. His career seemed to be on the rise in 2007 when he made 125 tackles with the Falcons. However, his role declined when Mike Smith took over as coach last season and put in a less aggressive defense. Boley eventually lost his job late in the season.
“I’m excited,” Boley said. “It’s a new beginning.”
Chiefs collect Cassel and Vrabel
After putting the franchise tag on Matt Cassel as insurance for two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, New England shipped Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel to Kansas City. The Chiefs gave up shockingly little —- the 34th overall pick in the April draft for both players.
The Chiefs have the third overall selection following a franchise-worst 2-14 season. In yielding their second-round draft choice, they acquire a reliable 12-year veteran linebacker and a proven young quarterback who could immediately fill one of their most urgent needs.
Broncos bring in Pro Bowler Dawkins
Denver signed seven-time Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins, who spent his entire 13-year career with Philadelphia.
Although Dawkins turns 36 next season and is clearly on the downside of his career, he brings a hard-hitting style and leadership qualities coveted by new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels.
Other comings and goings in the league
Dallas acquired quarterback Jon Kitna to back up Tony Romo by sending cornerback Anthony Henry to Detroit. … The New York Jets acquired two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Lito Sheppard from the Eagles for undisclosed draft picks. … Houston signed free agent defensive end Antonio Smith, who appeared in each regular-season game and started three of four playoff games for Arizona last season. … Philadelphia bolstered its offensive line by signing Stacy Andrews to a six-year contract. Andrews spent his first five seasons with Cincinnati and is the older brother of Eagles right guard Shawn Andrews.

Give me a quarter of the money of these signings and you'll never hear from me again

So did anyone hear where Michael Boley, a former USM Golden Eagle, sign with during free agency?

Sensabaugh is fine. He likes to shoot guns. Uh, okay, so he's like every other red blooded American male. The gun shop owner said regardless of the fact Sensa buys guns from him, the kid is respectable and always polite. He had an altercation with police about "riding wheelies" on his motorcycle and driving on a suspended lic which he admitted he thought his assistant had paid the speeding ticket.
On another subject, wouldn't it save us money if we cut Harper or what about releasing Kaesvaharn. You cap guys, would that help or hurt us if we did that?

Perhaps you need to go back and watch the Bears and Panthers game at the end of the season. Harper lost both of those games almost single handedly. He has the ball skills of a 5 year old. He is a MAJOR liability in the passing game. Every team knows it too. He has to go. He'd be a decent backup and special teamer, that's about it.

I heard Greer's contract is 4 years 23 million FYI. Not sure about the signing bonus though.
