Tiki Barber is absolutely correct.
Not to mention that you can’t expect players and coaches to run up loser stats so that the team can rebuild. They have their own careers to consider. Where do they go and what do they do when the team drafts high thanks to their poor performances?
And speaking of things to consider, in the online gambling era, such a strategy is likely illegal. It smacks of anticompetitive behavior that could get the participants locked up.
You play to win for a host of reasons. You “tank for the draft” idiots are just plain delusional.

Minus the gambling part, fair take. my buddies who sports gamble often think all kinds of stuff and have valid points to back it up. And losing money makes them really overthink that shiiii lol.
Who knows tho. Thats a different debate re: winning/losing, pete rose/nba/recent college stuff. Cheating in sports will never not be a debate and will alway be partially true and fake.
Boxing, etc, everyone believed used to be rigged. Did Liston take the fall etc type questions we’ll never know the answer to.
