if Payton made Moore, when is he gonna make Devery?

True. FWIW, all of this fighting aside, I agree with you (at least in terms of Devery and Moore)

Probably the most sensical thing you've said in this whole thread.

it wasnt meant to incite anyone, but you idiots ran away with it

you're a clown and have no credibility

you see, this is what i'm talking about. where did i ever say i like LSU? never. check my posts. do i go on the tiger rant? no, i don't believe so. Call me a saints homer fine. And heauxbeaux is right, you make ridiculous posts saying we are "fricked" if devery is #2. And you know, that's fine if you feel that way. But this thread is now 10+ pages and you contributed to every bit of it. So don't go there with your teammate gyno sandvagina saying I'm spouting a bunch of crap here.

If you ask me, you two douchebags seem to be jealous little school girls. Sorry you don't fit in, and when did you become "Mr. Credible?" Do you carry a card around in your wallet that says you are a saints football expert?

I also like the way you read, interpret, and then post shite twisting what people say or what you "think" was said. Pick Lance over Devery. Who gives a frick? I don't care.

Chad has more credibility here than you do, so don't be so quick to go judging peoples character.

i don't understand how LE was being negative, realistic is more like it. They ARE fricked if they have to depend on a guy as a #2 who has never caught more than 30 balls or been more than a deep threat. moore is consistent, moves the chains in clutch situations, and can break one loose for a TD. in the end that's all you can ask out of a receiver.

A/ I don't have a goatee

B/ Your opinion is fine. But what I had a problem with was the fact that you were saying he is not capable of being a #2 guy. I would have agreed with you the past few seasons, but I am just saying that with Lances shoulder and Colstons knee, he is expected to become more of a complete reciever by the coaching staff. I believe he knows that and his game is steadily improving. Lances intermediate game was obviously further along than Hendersons last season, or he would not have been our #1. He earned it with his play and he is damn good. I never said he wasn't a good reciever.
It seems like you are saying that if one of our starters go down, that we are fricked because you are using deverys first few seasons to pass judgement on him. Unfair. Did you not watch him in games last season? He played extremely well and I do believe he ran some underneath and intermediate stuff. I have seen and heard enough of his game recently to have faith and believe that he can fill a void if called on. You do not and that is ok, but I just think you are not giving him any credit to his recent improvement and steady workmanship. If we started a thread about Lance Moore the second week of last season and I was all high and mighty about him taking over Colstons spot and being a #1 guy, what would you have said then?
You seem to like to take the "wait and see" and "I told you so" approach and that's cool. I am an optimist and like to ride on the teams build and character and workmanship. Yeah, alot of times it might be a setup for disappointment, but atleast when they do make it I'll have been there never with a negative word, and you will look like a bandwagoner who complained and didn't "believe" until the prize was already won.

Woooowwwww...I leave this thread for 12 hours and it got way uglier and now includes a "I've been a Saints fan longer" dick-measuring contest. I knew I should've turned on the computer when I got home instead of watching "Big Brother".

We can talk last 3 years as well if you want to bring that up:

Lance Less: 112 catches for 1240
Devery Henderson: 84 catches for 1947 yards

Last 4 years:
Lance Less: 112 catches for 1240 yards
Devery Henderson: 106 2290 yards

Devery is consistently giving you so much more bang for your catch than Lance. It's exactly like saying you'd rather a rb that averages 2.5 yards over 6 yards per run.

No way in hell, but even if you want to look at it like that, what he does is more valuable than what Devery does.

make big catches, scores TD's, moves the chains with 1st downs, and also proved to be a decent deep threat on occasion last year.

Ummm no way in hell.

You want to talk %'s? Lance Moore gets a first down on about 50% of his catches. Devery... almost 85 fricking %.

Over their careers, Lance scores a td about 10% of his catches. Devery about 13%. We can go all day long.

Also, 1 year does not a career make. Sure, Lance had a great season last year and I hope he has a great one this year. But who is to say that Devery can't have a great year? Noone can predict the future, so to say we are screwed if Devery is our #2, one would have to have Nostradamus type abilities. I know I don't, But Brees himself has said he is showing great confidence in Henderson. If it pans out on the field, Devery could be a star in the making.

Prior to last season, Moore had a whopping 33 career catches. Also, I remember talk on this board and on SR.com from posters who wanted him to be cut prior to his breakout year.

Also, your statement about Henderson's having never caught 30 passes in a season is false, as he's done that twice. He had ONE bad season (2007), and with more opportunities he'll be better.

I would bring up other, more advanced statistics, but if you can't look up someone's traditional stats, I doubt that you would understand concepts like value over average...

It should be noted that I am a Lance Moore fan, but the Henderson bashing has got to go. I'd be comfortable with Henderson as our #2 guy. However, I really hope that Meachem turns out to be our #2 guy because he is a better downfield blocker than Moore or Devery, IMO.

Then again, we run a lot of one back sets, so we're going to see a lot of Colston and two from Moore/Meachem/Henderson anyway.

I'm not jumping too deep into this cat fight, but if anyone thinks that the Saints offense is "frickED" if Devery has to play the 2 spot, you're just a fricking idiot. Since Drew has taken over we have seen damn near every part of the offense lose someone to injury. And guess what...someone else steps in and the offense keeps going and going. So with that said, I'm confident that the 5th receiver on the depth chart can be filled into the number 2 spot if need be. Drew and Payton will make it work; they always do. So basically what I'm trying to say is
