Beanies's Weaknesses:
Known for his inside running, not his ability to get to the outside
Struggles with durability - some question his toughness, too
Lacks natural hands for catching
Lacks consistent effort as a blocker
Needs to improve his blitz recognition in pass protection
Lack of true breakaway speed
Strengths:
Wells strength is his size and speed combination. At 237 pounds Wells reportedly has 4.4 40 speed. Wells has the power to break tackles on and get to the second level and then turn on his speed. Wells has good vision and is able to recognize the cut back. Wells does a nice job always running down hill and hitting the hole hard. You won’t get many negative gains from him. Wells does a nice job of knowing when to use his power and when to use his speed. While at OSU, Wells often appeared to be a “man among boys” on the field. Wells has the make-up of a workhorse back, able to carry the ball 30 plus times per game. He will just have to display the ability to do this over the course of a season and career.

Seriously, you can't be that stupid and manage to type on a keyboard...can you?
All three teams played each of their first rounders 14-16 games in their first season in 2006; it doesn't get any more immediate than that. That's not FUTURE, thats NOW.
The Colts created their own need in dropping James, as did the Steelers in dropping Randle-El. Resign a high-priced guy or pick the new one that can come in now and contribute as well or better? And you completely disregard the fact of what was left on their roster. If PT is 'possibly good', how was Rhodes, Dillon, Faulk, Washington, Ward, etc not?
Basically, you failed ( yet again ) in your own post and you're too stupid to realize it. Guess you never heard the phrase that starts off "its better to keep quiet..." Thanks for the laughs; please do keep 'em coming!

:sigh: here I go one last time. After this, I will not repeat myself anymore. Either you will listen to what I am saying or you won't.
Those three teams drafted those particular players for no other reason than them being the BPA and filling a position of NEED. They did NOT draft those players for the sole purpose of them being immediate impact guys. Do teams hope their 1st rd picks pan out as rookies and deliver immediate impact? Of course. Do they allow this thought process to dictate the drafting of players? Absofrickinglutely NOT.
By that rationale, no team would ever draft anything in the first round other than RB, C, G, LB or FB, since those are the positions that historically have the shortest learning curve and have the highest probability of immediate impact.
OK, you're right. Teams who draft QB, WR, CB, LT or DT in the first round are all terrible teams that don't know how to draft, because those positions usually don't produce as "immediate impact" players their rookie seasons.
Hell, the Saints were fricking RETARDS last year for drafting Ellis, because he wasn't an immediate impact player.

Um, the Steelers didn't "drop" Randle-El, HE WAS A FREE AGENT. God, man, get your facts straight. And the Colts didn't drop James to "create a need". That's just poor team management if that's the case. I don't know, maybe they thought James was not effective and worth his contract anymore since his knee injury? Nah, that's just silly talk, MDS...
And Holmes was not brought in expecting to be an "immediate impact player", because WR's generally aren't their rookie years. Furthermore, he wasn't an immediate impact player. While he had a productive season compared to the normal rookie WR, 49 catches is far from an "impact player" production.

Rhodes - never did shite other than be a backup, thus INDI had a RB need
Dillon - was old and at end of his career, thus NE had a RB need
Fauld - 3rd down back, thus NE had a RB need
Washington - 0 catches 0 yards in 2005, thus PITT had a WR need
Ward - um... I have yet to find an NFL team that doesn't need at least 2 WR's, thus.... ah hell, you get the point... well, probably not, but everyone else reading this does
Either way, I am so tired of arguing with you. You're like a child that wants to touch the hot pot on the stove, and every time your daddy tells you not to touch that it's hot, you just seem to either not listen to what he is actually saying or you just don't comprehend it, so you touch the pot anyway. I mean, you have never contended anything that I have said here; you just keep posting your same shite that has nothing to do with my position.
to sum up everything, I leave you with this.....

figure it out, if you can

You must be a liberal; only they can look reality in the face and deny it. Fact is, those players came in and saw significant playing time and contributed in their first season; ie impact *now*. In fact, the Patriots are the prime example of this; address needs with veterans in free agency, draft immediate contributors ( Maroney, Mayo, Meriweather, Mankins, Wilfork, etc, etc ) and I'm thankful the Saints look to be following that model ( Sharper, Greer, Spicer, Coleman - hopefully an immediate player int he draft like Moreno ).
Next time, do some research on the draft history and look at how much those players played. It might save you from yet another foolish post.
