let the ticket office know.
this person sold them online thus voiding the ticket... then went and sold the ticket on the streets.

First off, it isn't illegal to sell on Saints property. I sold Superbowl Tickets right inside the Saints Facility after getting them from the window. Second, the Superdome isn't Saints property.
It's illegal to sell any ticket above face value in Louisiana
and you cannot sell any ticket on Superdome property.

None of my friends wanted to go with me because they all had too much to drink on NYE (that's a lousy reason to skip a Saints game, I know), so I sold my tickets to a cute Canadian lady outside the Dome who had "never seen an American football game before" for face value. I then turned around and bought a single for myself for face value. I was worried about it, but the guy said I could walk into the Dome with him.
I guess if you're going to buy off the street again, see if the seller is going to the game and ask if you can walk in with him? Or at least keep an eye on him.

Please find the Law on this, because last I heard they changed it. I did find this and I am still reasearching.
Published May 3, 2006
.The Louisiana state House Commerce Committee approved a bill yesterday that would allow tickets to sporting events, concerts and other events to be “legally resold at a profit under certain conditions,” according to Jan Moller of the New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE. Teams and concert venues would have to agree to allow the tickets to be resold for profit, and ticket-selling Web sites “would have to guarantee the authenticity of the ticket.” Louisiana is one of five states that “forbid tickets to be resold above face-value,” but the law is “rarely enforced, and tickets to sold-out events are readily available through out-of-state brokers or via Internet auction sites.” Attempts to lift the ban have been “rejected by the Legislature in recent years amid opposition from the [Saints] and civic leaders who say it could hurt the city’s chances of attracting marquee sporting events such as the Super Bowl or the Final Four.” State Rep. Billy Montgomery said that the Saints are “not opposed to the current bill.” Moller notes other supporters include eBay and Ticketmaster (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 5/3).

they changed the way you can sell tickets via the internet

Is it illegal "to sale" OR "to sell"?...I always get confused on this basic grammar issue...LOL

This is the newest law I have found. So, by the letter of the law, you can sell via the internet if the webpage operator guarantees the tickets. I doubt you will get anyone arrested for scalping if the tickets are legit. Plus, the law states that all tickets must have the face value printed on them. So, I have heard some people on here say that their playoff tickets don't have the face value on them. According to the letter of the law, these tickets aren't legal?

yes, pretty much.

via the internet, no.
in person, especially at big time games ie BCS game, Super Bowl, Final 4, they have undercover stings on the streets to apprehend people for scalping tickets.

I have never heard of anyone outside the Dome getting arrested for scalping tickets that are legit tickets. Maybe scalping non-legit tickets.

It would be stupid as the tickets are tied to me.
If you go to the ticket office and complain they can look into if the original owner sold his tickets maliciously. He could lose his rights to tickets.
The way I see it, you could get away with it one time. But you'd have to print your tickets and sell via stubhub or give someone the printout, not thru the ticketexchange. Then you can claim you printed your tickets because you lost the hard copies. I've never done this nor condone this.
But it is a definite risk buying tickets with voided bar codes.

Another thing. In my file cabinet where I keep my season tickets, as I was putting my new playoff tickets away, I noticed I still had last year playoff tickets that we didn't get to use. The tickets look similar to this years, as neither of them have an opponent on them.
So be vigilant and check the date on the tickets, so as not to buy year-old useless tickets on the street.

Let me be clear- these were legit hard tickets for the Carolina game. If people are allowed to dump their hard tickets on the street after selling them online, then everyone legitimately selling tickets at the game is suspect.
Posted on 1/3/12 at 1:46 pm to louisiana dude
You should poston here and craigslist and all other places you think of the section, row, and seat numbers. That way if someone sees these tickets available for another game, they can turn away or something. Basically, since you don't have the season ticket holders name, you can put the seats on blast, lol.

I understand, and I'm sorry it happened. But there is no way to physically stop it from happening. I agree you should definitely call the office and report it so they follow up with the account holder for that ticket.

for regular saints games it doesnt happen
for BCS games, Super Bowls, and Final 4's it definitely happens.
they'll arrest 50-100 people at one of those games throughout the city

Unfortunately, the response you'll probably get from the Saints is "this is why we recommend to use ticketexchange." They and ticketmaster want their 15%.

My family owns a Bail Bond agency in New Orleans. I have heard of people being arrested for scalping fake tickets, but not legit tickets. Now, if you have can show me where someone with legit tickets did get arrested for scalping please post it.

True, but they need to trace it back to the original ticket owners. They can do that and they COULD take their tickets away. I mean, there is a waiting list and all...
