Teams will jump all over this guy once he's cleared waivers.

yep....I happen to think that he would fit in just fine here. We have enough leadership to keep him straight....I don't think he'd be a problem.

DeAngelo Hall is one of the better coverage corners in the league. He's got the speed and is physical enough to where we can still play man from time to time. Anything is better then the wretched Zone we throw out there. I think he's be an immediate upgrade.

OK, this is the situation as i know it. If a team claims Hall off of waivers, they have to
quote:

pay him the pro-rated portion of his salary (which is actually close to the league minimum). However, there is an injury clause in his contract, where he would be guaranteed $16 million if he suffers a serious injury. I can't see any team taking on that risk, so he will most likely clear waivers, making him a UFA. Once a UFA, that is when you can expect teams to make a run at him.

exactly, he is actually worth a look if he clears waivers and we can sign him with new contract provisions

if we signed him right now, thats an enormous risk to take on considering the amount of money it would cost if he got hurt. looking at the injury bug surrounding the Saints this season, I personally would not be willing to take that chance

As a Falcons fan, I'd stay away from him. FAR away! Complete cancer...and by the way, he's a horrible coverage guy. I was so glad when we traded him so that I wouldn't have to see him getting burned by every receiver in the league.

I did notice he got burned a lot for a guy with such speed.

We must be watching different DeAngelo Hall's for the last couple of seasons.

Like Jason David, teams look for Hall, and look to specifically go right at him. Basically, any WR he covers has been torching him for about 3 good seasons now.

how does that make him one of the better cover corners in the league?

Yeah, I dont know what all the hype about this guy is for. He gets smoked alot. I've seen alot of Falcons games when I lived in Atlanta and this dude constantly gambled on the big play and got toasted. Occasionaly he makes the play when he guesses right and thats what you see on Sportscenter, but those are few and far between. That being said he may be better than a few of the present guys we have, but I wouldnt want to pay the money that Hall wants.

Listening to 870 am yesterday afternoon, Bobby Hebert seems to think there is no way the Saints would sign him......now, that's just his opinion, but still.
