The hate is based on the fact that a player with his size/measureables is never successful in the NFL. No defensive lineman with his arm length has gotten 10 sacks in a season in the last 28 years.
Drafting Bain in the top 10 would be like drafting a 5’8 shooting guard in the top 10 of the NBA draft. Could he be the ultra rare prospect to outperform his obvious physical limitations against the best players in the world? Possibly. Do you want to bet a top pick on that long shot? I don’t

I’d really hope we could trade back, but there may not be a team wanting to jump up.
If it were to go the way Kiper has it, I could see a team looking to jump up 5-10 spots to land their top WR. The issue will be whether or not the compensation and the team's feel for the draft for players available at that new spot would justify the trade back. Or do they just stay put and grab the top WR, top CB, or reach a bit for the top guard

Would be absolutely fricking retarded picking a guard that high. You can get the best player at a money position, corner or receiver then.
In most drafts, that is true. This just happens to be a draft where the money positions are filled with guys that would be rated as mid-late first rounders in most draft classes.
I don't have an issue with picking the G if the 3-4 guys they had a target on are gone. I am ok with taking the potential all pro to protect Shough and solidify the run game. Ideally, you get a trade down. It would not be the worst pick that Loomis has made.
