The biggest example of this is that the GOP was full of guys like Drew for decades who were constantly caving and apologizing to the left all the time.
Eventually people got sick of it and that's how we ended up getting Trump.
With that said, Drew will likely play this season, get it over with and then retire and cut off all contact with the racist teammates who threw him under the bus.

Yes bro..... they just don’t get it it’s not about the flag frick the flag, it’s about police brutality it wasn’t about the flag until drew said it was, and that’s what pissed people off. he didn’t even acknowledge the recent killings that’s why what he said was tone deaf, but you know these white folks ain’t trying to hear that.

I think it’s been said a million times by now. It’s not his message, it’s the timing of the message. He even said in his apology he missed the mark on what is happening RIGHT NOW in this country- which isn’t a discussion about kneeling or the flag. He mentioned lack of awareness, this was his mistake.
And if you can’t understand that, which most of you don’t seem to, then Idk what to tell you.

Just saw this in the Political forum, sad. I am disappointed in Drew Brees.
I am not against people who PEACEFULLY protest. What I am against is protesting in a manner that uses a platform that is also controversial.
I may not be tuning in to the Saints this season or any NFL for that matter, and I'm a die hard fan of my Saints. My fandom only goes so far...

I’m not even disappointed in Brees.
I just don’t think it’s worth the trouble of losing the team right now. Drew is genuinely a good guy. He never deserved any of this.
