Classy.

Hopefully he can get his head right.

Never forget that kick to go to the Superbowl or the clutch kicks in the Superbowl.

Thank you Emo.

From what I heard he had a real rough summer of 2013. I think that played a big part of the hiccups he had during this year.....

I will always remember him fondly for '09.

But it's time to move on.

Props to Hartley for handling it well. He also made many clutch kick for this team, it was a rough way for him to go out, even though it was deservedly, Good luck to him in all future endeavors unless he's kicking for our opponents.

What have any of the Saints teams since 2009 done for us lately?

You kinda just rationalized away the need for productive players.

Well, I get it's a "what have you done for me lately" league. I understand and was perfectly okay with Hartley getting let go. No different than if I performed poorly at my job. I'd be released.

But when Hartley goes on twitter and gives an honest goodbye and thank you to all of us, I think the right thing to do is give him a good luck and thank you right back.

But some people want to still kick the guy after he got released while this thread was dedicated for us to say "thank you" to him.

Now this, I agree with.

I really never understood hating any Saints players really, unless they ran over your dog or something.

unless he's Bobby Hebert. He held out an entire year when the Saints were primed for a SB run and then he goes of to Atlanta, comes back to the dome as a Falcon and does their stupid dirty bird dance after they win.

Hartley always seemed like one of the cooler kickers out there, to me.

Don't know if your just trolling, but that's a pretty warped version of what happened overall.

No doubt the young man has had his struggles this season and letting him go must have been a difficult decision and his misses this past Sunday didn't help his cause. However, that cluster of a performance, on both sides of the ball, could have seen a number of pink slips being passed out...they weren't anymore prepared to play the rams than I am the Man in the Moon...let's see if they can re-rail this train off the dirt road in which they find themselves...
