Who cares what Archie has to say. I dont understand why he has to make a comment.

Really? You can't understand the interest people have in what Archie Manning has to say after the recent events?

The whole city is elated, as are most of the former players who have identified themselves with the Saints over the years.

Before Brees, Archie Manning was arguably the best player the Saints ever had, and he was the face of the franchise for a long time. He stayed in the media limelight because he was also a huge figure in the New Orleans community after his playing days. He was the color commentator for the Saints games for what, 2 decades? He raised a famous family in New Orleans, and still calls New Orleans home.

On top of all that his son played for the losing team in the Superbowl!

Now maybe, even probably, the man has mixed emotions about the whole thing, and he is refaining from making a comment for now. But don't act like there aren't media people galore, including his good friend Jim Henderson, who wouldn't like to interview him post-Super Bowl 44. And quit pretending that there wouldn't be national media interest in such an interview.

In fact, since the Superbowl, Jim Henderson did a story on the news about a former Saints lineman, I can't remember his name, whom he met up with at the Super Bowl. The guy's knees are totally shot after years of playing in the NFL, and he can barely walk. He's had 47 thousand surgeries, etc. So anyway, Henderson decides to do a feel good news story on the guy after the Super Bowl, and he actually interviews Archie Manning about the guy. The interview was done on the street in New Orleans - I recognized the buildings downtown. Jim Henderson asked him questions about his former team mate with the busted legs, BUT he never said a word in the interview about the Super Bowl, or the Saints, or Peyton.

I found that rather strange. You know damn well that Henderson asked him about those things, yet Henderson didn't publish a single word of it, not for that story or any other news story. Very telling, IMO!
