Im with Prominentwon , its just preseason. Don't get me wrong, David should not be a starting corner, but why all the hate for Vilma after 16 plays?

I am totally on board in general with not judging the defense as a whole based on this being a preseason game. They are not doing much in the way of blitzing and their schemes are very vanilla.
JD is still getting toyed with left and right though and there is nothing you can do to hide that.

I'd rather see us put 10 players on the field than play Jason David ever. He is worse at defending the pass than a hole in a zone.

I dont hate any player, but I do not feel that Vilma will fill our need. Hard to be better after injury. My prediction has been and will be that our D will not be sig. better than last year. My opinion was developed well prior to a preseason game. I hope I am 100 percent wrong.

To you and Prominentwon, what is your prediction for the D this year?

No, holy frick, it was the draft and offseason. Where do you see the Saints D, or do you just critique what others say?

As long as he is playing.. teams will continue to gameplan to pick on him. He truly is horrible.

Well I honestly see them as being improved but not completely fixed. There are still some holes but I think they will be better. I just can't base a whole seasons prediction on one preseason game. I have no clue how many packages their running. Its just too early. But with McKenzie coming back and all the other additions we made I can't see us being worse.

you really dont know anything about Vilma. This is the first time he has played and it is preseason. Chill. David however is garbage. I almost feel bad for the dude.

I dont think we will be worse, but I do not feel we have any significantly improved in the clear positions of need. McKenzie being back will help.

But with Gibbs at the helm, I do not see what additional packages will be displayed through the year to make it significantly different than last season, in light of slight improvement in personell.

Once again, this has nothing to do with the preseason game....except the Jason David being wretched part.

Hey! The Saints will make a move after the 5th lost! Who takes his place?

Ellis put on a little pressure I noticed.

Ellis looked very good but that was neutralized by Jason david giving up a 10+ pass every third play.

No I really dont, we do know that his production dropped to mortal levels recently after extraordinary rookie and soph. seasons. I also know he is coming off a somewhat serious knee injury, and that this injury is from a chronic degenerative condition. We will see.

Maybe playing behind 4 will be good for him here.

wow, i've never seen a 4.5 month bump on here .

J. David is like the Jeff Gordon of CB's, he brings the worst out in people. Grandmother's are curisng 42 in grocery stores. That is where I draw the line.
