In a nine month period…..

We went from being a team with:
1. An overwhelmed head coach who was never going to turn things around.
2. An older QB with a low ceiling that we owed significant salary to
3. An old roster
4. A offensive line with multiple issues
5. Salary cap issues for years
6. A clueless GM who routinely digs the hole deeper by trading up in draft or extending older players
To a team:
1. With an offensive minded young coach
2. A rookie QB on a rookie contract. Even if he doesn’t pan out, he’s a 2nd round pick and we didn’t invest heavily to get him. We can get the next guy easily.
3. A young, talented offensive line to protect young rookie QB
4. More salary cap space than we thought was possible bc veteran QB retired.
5. Still have the GM but at least he didn’t trade up.
6. Drafted 9 young prospects to start turning over older roster.
I’m not naive to think we will be a playoff contender next year but the future all of a sudden looks much brighter.

Agree and it’s weird to me anyone is particularly negative right now. This season will probably be a little rough but things are pretty hopeful after that at least. I just hope they remain flexible at QB if Shough isn’t it.
